You can also rent bikes there, they also have a small splash pad for kids, and public restrooms. Overall a great place to enjoy the day!

If you don't want to be on such a crowded beach I recommend North Beach Park. This is the Northern most part of Hollywood Beach and usually less crowded than by the Boardwalk. They also have plenty of parking.

The Guitar Hotel Light Show
The Guitar Hotel Light Show is a daily show featuring a series of orchestrated outdoor music and lights showcasing the LED lights built into all sides of the brand-new Guitar Hotel. The lights are programmed to change color and intensity and are choreographed to different songs. Six high-powered beams of light accentuate the production by projecting at least 20,000 feet into the sky. The six lights mimic the strings of an imaginary guitar neck.
