Around 15 minutes from Governors Harbour, this is a perfect beach to relax and enjoy the tranquil ocean. Perfect for younger children as the water is shallow and calm for quite a way out. Also great shade from trees on the shoreline.

Another good beach with small children, but equally for anyone wanting to bask in the sunshine and enjoy the calm side of the island. Keep to the left as you drive to the beach and follow the road to the end where the rocky end of the beach will present good snorkeling as well.

Upmarket restaurant with a great view over the harbour. Good food and good service complete the deal. Worth a visit!

Rental Vehicles
Even though Squires Estate is very centrally located in Governor's Harbour, and you can walk to the local grocery stores, bank, souvenir shops, a few restaurants etc... Eleuthera is 110 miles long, and most of our clients like to explore the island and all its natural beauty. For this reason we do recommend that you rent a vehicle during your stay with us, which it is preferable to arrange prior to your arrival.

Travel Light, you wont need it
So many guests arrive laden with luggage, only to comment that they needed very little. The island is casual and days on the beach need little more than a bathing suit, shorts, T-shirts and loose comfortable dresses for the ladies, so consider your needs as you may be able to save on a checked bag.

Sunscreen
Must haves, reef friendly Sunscreen. The sun is fierce and you will need to protect against burning, especially if travelling with little ones. Please try to find a reef friendly sunscreen if possible. https://savethereef.org/about-reef-save-sunscreen.html

Bug Spray
We have quite a few mosquitoes and no-seeums on the island. These are worst at dawn and dusk, particularly as the sun goes down on the beach, so be aware and take precautions. A great product which does not contain Deet and is very effective is called Picaridin. This is our choice as it is a gentle lotion which does the job.
