Food Scene

There are some fantastic places to eat in and around Whitby. We have tried to dine at many so that we can hopefully give you some guidance when planning your evening out!
A fantastic Yorkshire country pub, with both quaint indoor seating and also a perfect South facing beer garden. Their food is excellent, we have never been disappointed. What is even better, leave the car in Whitby, saunter down to the train station in Whitby and jump on the train to Middlesbrough. The 4th stop is Egton Bridge (20 mins from Whitby) and the Postage is outside the station. A return 'Duo' ticket will cost less than £10 for a great day out!

The Magpie, is the most well known restaurant in Whitby. If you wish to try a wide range of fresh fish and local seafood, then the Magpie is certainly well worth a visit. Overlooking the harbour, the Magpie can accommodate just two or much larger groups. I would certainly check out their website to view their extensive fish and seafood menu

Based on Church Street, you would need to walk 7 or 8 minutes away from town past the excellent Middle Earth public house and Riverside Fisheries is opposite Parkol the local ship builders in Whitby. Riverside is used by many Whitby locals and serves a excellent Haddock, however you need to order this on entering. Also very reasonably priced..
