Sightseeing
This beautiful trail system is only a short 2 km drive from the house. With several trail heads that you can start from, the entire loop will take about an hour at a moderate pace, it is hilly but easy if you are able to handle the hills. The trail takes you along the Muskoka River and through beautiful old stands of forests.

Wilsons Falls

LIV Outside is a great place to rent canoes and kayaks from and they are located on the most beautiful section of the river and will put the boats right in for you, all you have to do is pack water and a lunch. Ask them to point you in the direction of the waterfalls (don't worry you will end up at the bottom of a gorgeous waterfall not the top!) It takes about 1.5hrs to paddle to the falls where you can pull off on the shore to have a picnic or just float and eat in your boat.

LIV OUTSIDE - Gear + Adventures

A really pretty and easy hike, take this meandering hike around Hardy Lake, it is relatively flat and easy. There are several lengths of trails, you could walk for 45min or 2 hours. Great year round. If you are coming in the winter take the snow shoes provided.

Hardy Lake Trail Head

Gallery
Depending on the time of year you visit this small but beautiful gallery is a nice walk from the house and hosts rotating art shows of talented Ontario artists. It is located in a very historical old chapel and situated beside the Woodchester Villa (see listing in guidebook). Walk left down Kimberley Ave to the corner of Ontario Street, turn left, cross the main street, then the bridge and take a left after bridge on to trail which will take you up to Woodchester Villa and back of the gallery.
