Brugse Poort

This is an amazing multicultural neighbourhood in the beautiful city of Ghent. Vibrant and lively this area has the best of all worlds. From a wonderful Flemish supermarket, butcher & (very importantly!) a Belgian fries stand to fantastically fresh Turkish and Moroccan bakeries, butchers, fruit & vegetable shops and even fresh fish! There are some super tasty restaurants & you don’t have to walk far to find a dona kebab! Not only are there many cultural events held in the area but you can even taste one of the unique Belgian beers on a terrace just a 3 minute walk away. The Bourgoyen, a beautiful nature reserve is 1.5km away. Great for a walk or run anytime of the year. I love the diversity of this area and the freedom that comes from buying your fruit and vegetables here, your meat or fish there, having a great beer and carrying it on your bike back is something so quintessential to Belgium. I truly cherish this neighbourhood.
