While it may be a chain, we have to rate Cau. They do a very good Sunday Roast. A nice place to grab brunch at the weekend. Not normally so busy that you have to book in advance. Reasonably priced too; £50 for two with drinks.

Family run Italian restaurant with a bar next door run by the same team. Often fully booked throughout the week and with good reason. Excellent, fresh food, well prepared. Great wine selection also.

Probably the best pub in Blackheath. Has a great beer garden and if you want, you can take your drinks out the front and drink on the heath. While it's best enjoyed on a sunny day, it is also really homely inside with some great sofas to cuddle up on during the rainy winter months.

Parks & Nature
I only discovered this park around a month after moving to the area. It's lovely; very calm and full of nice landscaped areas. Great to go to in the evening if you're looking for a relaxing walk. There's a really nice cafe in there too which does a surprisingly good cooked breakfast. Worth the visit for that alone.

One of London's Royal Parks, Greenwich really is stunning. Around 20 minutes walk from our house, it's great on a sunny day. Parking can be a bit of a pain on a weekend. Well worth a visit for the views across the river just by the observatory. The Rose Garden is very nice too and don't forget to have a look at the deer in the deer park.

It's a supermarket. What more can we say. We must go here almost every other day. Enjoy the banter with the Big Issue guy on the way in/out and maybe buy a copy. He'll be your friend for life.

Sightseeing
Go to the Shard and get great views across the centre of town. However, don't waste your money paying £25 per person or however much it is these days to go to the viewing platform. Instead take the lift around the far side to the 33rd floor where there a number of bars you can visit without a reservation. Spend that money on a nice cocktail instead and get pretty much an identical view to the one a little further up the building.

Arts & Culture
One of London's best galleries. Entry is free, save for the special exhibitions which are ticketed. There's a newly opened extension which has a viewing platform on the roof. That's pretty fun to go up, even if if you want to chuckle at the poor souls who bought glass fronted apartments in the tower opposite and are surprised that strangers can now look straight into their living rooms.
