Very close to the house. If you go I recommend going toward Brevard because there are a lot of water falls in Pisgah National Forest. I've listed it in this thread.

Plenty of hiking and mountain biking. There is even a company in Brevard the will take you up the mountain and you ride their bikes back down. I'll list them in this thread.
