You will likely see our resident Blue Heron wading out here as well- he’s a personal friend so please be kind and give him a wide berth ( you’re in his space).

I don’t recommend the hotel- unless you wanna pay triple for a bed and a toilet. But the beach directly behind it is a great place to find shells, sharks teeth and often valuables lost or left behind by other visitors! The striped beach towels available for your use were found there exclusively.

But the beach directly behind it is a great place to find shells, sharks teeth and often valuables lost or left behind by other visitors! Bring a blanket and a beverage. “ Bands on the Beach” offers live music, within walking distance, and you can cop a squat as far from, or close to the action as you wish.

Fort pickens campground offers some of the most beautiful stretches of white sand beaches, and they are off limit to the public. You can buy a 7 day pass for around 25$ and have unrestricted access to these beaches. You can find a private spot anytime of year here. Go top less, have a romantic interlude, or medicate without your card, it's all yours for the taking on the private beaches of Fort Pickens State Park.

Take the drunk bus!!
The trolley runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Not only is it a free ride from point A to point B, it’s an activity in and of itself. “Where are you headed?” Can be a rhetorical question- just get on and ride. It’s a great way to make friends, see the Beach in its entirety and get intoxicated all at the same time. Personally, it’s one of the best attractions the area has to offer!

Open Your Eyes
There's a species of pufferfish whose babies are born in the surf several months out of the year here on Pensacola Beach. All it takes is the slightest inclimate weather for these babies to puff up, lose their motor skills and beach. Fully puffed, these babies are no larger than field peas, but if you open your eyes, you may discover one in time to set him back in the sea alive. Every small piece of shell and coral is a wonderful and beautiful object to study. Don't spend your whole vacation on the beach blanket, this is one of the most fascinating places nature has to offer!
