Sightseeing

Located off the beaten path, just minutes away from Preacher’s Cave, Sapphire Blue Hole is a must visit! Tucked away and surrounded by native bush, this unique oasis is a great little swimming hole. Those who dare can make the 20ft jump from the blue holes edge to swim (and snorkel) in its aptly named sapphire waters.

A historic landmark where some of the first settlers of Eleuthera took refuge after a storm left them shipwrecked. Also a beautiful beach!

The most narrow point on the entire island, The Glass Window Bridge is a very dramatic, panoramic vista. Bright turquoise on the Bank Side of Eleuthera & dark blue Atlantic waters contrast at this natural bridge.

Driving in Eleuthera

Car rentals are available and this is definitely the best way to explore Eleuthera but please be mindful that the roads need maintenance and there are some areas with a lot of potholes. The road is long and windy and poorly lit and so I would not recommend driving at night. Day trips are best! Also, as you drive through each settlement be aware that there are usually 2-3 speed bumps but they are not marked and in some cases not very visible until you’re right upon them, so go slow while driving through each settlement/village. *Have fun, enjoy the drive and remember to keep on the left! :)
