Slott
“Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, Sudeley Castle & Gardens has played an important role in England’s history for over 1,000 years. Rated amongst the top attractions on TripAdvisor for ‘Things to Do in the Cotswolds’, the castle rooms and exhibits contain many fascinating treasures, from ancient Roman times to the present day. Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200 acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. The centrepiece is the Queens Garden, so named because four of England’s queens – Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – once walked upon the original Tudor Parterre. All-year-round activities and events.”

“Founded in 1246 by the Earl of Cornwall, Hailes Abbey is set amid delightful Cotswold countryside. Once the centre of monastic life, the tranquil ruins are now the perfect place to relax and enjoy a picnic in a unique historic setting. Visit the new museum to discover the treasures of Hailes, uncovering stories of the monks who lived and worshipped at the abbey for nearly three centuries.”

Street Address
“Gus and Kate run Restaurant 5 North Street with pride. An integral part of Winchcombe’s tight-knit community, they provide memorable dining in an uncluttered 26-cover dining room. Gus’s dedication to gastronomy was evident from day one. A man with a redoubtable work ethic, he completed his training under Michel Roux Snr at the three-star Waterside Inn, at Bray-on-Thames. Monsieur Roux was so impressed by his youthful protégé that he once flew him out to the Kremlin, where he’d been asked to cook for then-President Boris Yeltsin. He met his wife, Kate, while working at The Waterside, though they’d actually been friends during their college years, before their careers took them along different”

“A traditional pub which was originally a farmhouse in the 16th century. There are some quirky things - look for the bust of Disraeli above the front porch, the flagstone commemorating a local having slipped there in the 1960s and listen out for the ghost if it's quiet upstairs!!!! Jason runs a friendly local pub with a large dining area serving wholesome, large portions. There is a large, flagged garden with pretty flowers to enjoy during the summer - also a car park out back. For me it has the best traditional Sunday lunch in town.”
