Not many have experienced a houseboat - now you can! Come spend a while soaking in the lake and it's beautiful sunsets on the only houseboat rental in Coeur d'Alene. This is a remodeled 80's Cruise A Home, famous for their wide body, open floor plan, full bathroom, and featuring a step down sleeping berth for the kiddos or extra guests. Master stateroom has a pocket door for privacy. Also sports a full kitchen and ample closet/storage space. Just make sure you can handle movement- it's a boat :)
Stay near world-famous downtown Coeur d'Alene in a unique space not only by the lake, but on the lake in a very cool houseboat! The boat is parked in front of another great Airbnb rental - the historic Apache Rock Shop A-frame cabin (Airbnb.com/h/cdacabin).
Enjoy one of the few truly private lake properties with beach & docks along the beautiful northeast section of Lake Coeur d' Alene. The scenic lake drive here is easy, just 10 minutes from downtown. Your neck of the woods spans nearly an acre, including a hill trail to 200ft of private lakefront. In addition to the houseboat rental, I have 2 space 50amp RV parking available & the A-frame cabin for rent (see other listing).
Do something different than your typical stay at an average house in a packed residential neighborhood - remember you're in scenic north Idaho! Have a campfire, watch eagles soar (this area boasts one of the largest bald eagle populations in America), soak in amazing sunsets from the perfectly situated west facing shoreline, and countless other possible activities unique to this area.
The houseboat can be available for different group sizes, from an artist's solo retreat, a romantic getaway, to a larger group gathering if bringing extra RV's or tents (for larger parties beyond four persons extra charges apply, same with RV hookup fees - please inquire for more details.) With our long half circular driveway and two entry/exit points, parking can be accommodated for multiple vehicles and toys. Please note that cabin guests have first priority on RV and tent sites, so check with me first if planning for a larger party.
Just above the boat you'll find the beginning of the awesome paved Centennial Trail for walking and biking, taking you all the way to Spokane some 25 miles away if adventurous!
Being a lake property, there are water toys available on a priority basis for your use - a massive water trampoline with balance logs, launch pads and slide, diving board, a SUP, inflatable rafts, 2 two-person kayaks, a 17ft canoe, fishing poles, and even a seven seater Bayliner open bow sport boat for rental or charter (depending on availability--please ask in advance if interested.) Also enjoy a picnic table and barbecue, even a firepit on the beach for those cool nights... I've spent entire days down there with the family, why go anywhere else ;)
Also available on a priority basis are his and her bikes and kids bikes - after all you have the Centennial Trail right across the road! Bringing young kids? - I can also provide a bike trailer if asking in advance.
The priority basis refers to cabin guests who have first priority on lake toys and bikes. Depending on days of week and time of season you may or may not have the beach area and bikes to yourselves. In my experience so far, cabin, RV and houseboat guests have all got along great at the lakefront, often having kids play together and making friendships. Sharing bikes has also been harmonious, but if you really want to have privacy or if you definetly want certain amenities, feel free to reach out beforehand to discuss.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - the trail to lake is a little steep, about 80 feet of decline including stair sections (see pics), so please be in average physical condition and watch the little ones. It's not too bad, I take my entire family with kids ranging in age from 3 to 10 years quite often, just be aware of it. Also there's a somewhat busy road (depending on time of day and season) out front (see in pics) before the lake trail, and no gates yet on both sides of the half circular driveway where you'll be parking, so watch the kids and pets.
For activity lovers, north Idaho is an amazing four season playground for watersports, hiking, biking, atv riding, fishing, gem finding, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. Down-time activities include a growing list of excellent restaurants, bars, music venues, coffee houses, and a wide variety of shops. Information buffs can explore the areas rich history in forestry, mining, and transportation via some great local tours and museums. Other major attractions nearby include Silverwood theme park and Silver Rapids indoor waterpark. The possibilities are endless! Reach out beforehand and let me know what you're interested in, or let me help you create an itinerary - I know this area and its people and businesses very well, and promise to help make your vacation unforgettable :)
We are dog friendly, but pets do require pre-approval, and come with rules and and are subject to an added cleaning fee. Other pets please inquire.
Finally - you'll be staying on a boat. For the inexperienced, it could prove difficult as the boat can rock a bit on this lake depending on conditions. Sometimes it's perfectly still, but if the lake is busy and/or there are high winds, she'll rock so queasy stomachs not recommended. And like an RV, boats have limited systems so you'll have to be ok with water conservation (especially for longer stays), occasionally using a generator, etc. If new to boats or RV's, not to worry it's not that difficult, just be the type who can stay on top of things and follow simple directions :) Finally - the boat stays moored. Sorry I'm not insured for taking it out. But you never know, a chartered journey is not out of the realm of possibilities!
Thanks and please reach out if you have any questions at all.
Coeur d'Alene is incredibly beautiful and unique. I've traveled extensively and have yet to find a place quite like it. I hope you'll come and enjoy the area as I have :)
