The suite has a comfortable queen size bed, private bath with shower and a large tub. It has a private entrance through a small screened porch and is separated from the rest of the house. The bedroom is a good deal larger than it appears in the photos. There is a small pantry area, with microwave, coffee maker, and a good size mini-fridge. I usually stock waters, half&half for coffee and a few snacks for my guests, and the fridge will hold plenty of food if you want to shop in a nearby grocery store or bring food from home. There are real plates and utensils . If you prefer paper and plastic you will need to bring your own. The small screened porch is a great place to hang out, listen to birds, sip your coffee or other beverages. There is also private deck area.
Good WiFi and a Roku TV (no local channels but many streaming channels like Netflix, hulu, amazon, PBS, already loaded).
Check out my reviews regarding privacy, convenience, and value. I am currently encouraging longer stays but if you need just one night send me a request. I plan to offer discounts for stays 4-6 nights. Just Ask
A floor mattress (not inflatable) is available for a child or third guest (may be more comfortable for a child) with advanced notice (the extra person fee does not apply to children) Please note that the suite is not "Child Proofed" so not suitable for toddlers.
The screened porch has comfortable seating and is a great place for wet sandy things, fishing gear etc. or just relaxing with a book. The back yard is usually very peaceful, although you will see Scooby and Ollie (my dogs) on occasion. I call them "attention hounds". Ollie, the big brown one, loves tennis balls and if you care to indulge him he will love you forever (or until you check out)
There is WiFi and a Roku TV (no local channels but many streaming channels like Netflix, hulu, amazon, PBS, already loaded).
Tray tables are provided and in the closet there are various items such as yoga mats, a beach towel or 2, beach totes & beach mats, an iron & ironing board.
Leaving beach type stuff on the porch or deck when you leave is fine. That way sand stays outside.
The rest of the house is fairly small and we have fairly active lives. However, guests report that they have never heard us and we rarely know they are there. The dogs may bark a little now and then, but in general they are quiet too. They are friendly but love to run out of the gate and go for dog adventures whenever possible so keeping the gate closed (and latched) is important.
You may park in the driveway, although you must be careful of overhanging magnolia branches if you have an extra tall vehicle or bikes, kayaks, etc on top. There is 7 foot clearance. Please note that there is no room for boat trailers!
Please no smoking except outside on the deck.
My contact information is listed inside the room along with the internet access code and other useful information. Feel free to contact me within reasonable hours if you need assistance.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM FOLLOWING CDC guidelines for cleaning and scheduling a 48 to 72 hour buffer between bookings to allow for thorough cleaning of the suite.
The proximity to downtown Beaufort is what makes this space special. Downtown is about a mile away--a very nice walk along the water. This is where the ferries to Cape Lookout or more local spots across the water are available year round. In general the neighborhood is pretty quiet, especially at night.
