Porter is a quiet town in the western corner of ME. We enjoy Spec Pond for swimming, the local bowling alley, festivals and fairs, hiking, antique shops, farm stands and local restaurants. Portland ME and North Conway NH are ~45 minutes away.
In Cornish ~ 5 miles is a Shop & Save (smaller/ lower end Hannaford). Go back to 25, cross the bridge into Parsonsfield, bear left. Follow 25 ~ 5 miles, it will be on your Right. It has a Redbox
If you drove into ME via Route 16N you would have passed a Hannaford on route 16 ~ 20 minutes away
Merrifield - this was on your way in on route 25. Grace the farmer, I like her variety
Blossoms – (this is under new management, and I am less familiar with them) just over the bridge, left on Rt 25 on right side (just pass the bowling alley)
Bonus, they have ice cream
Watson’s continue on route 25 past Shop & Save and through town of Cornish (cute town, antiques, toy store, etch)
MEAT: we get all of our beef and lamb from Wright Haven Farm. You need to make an appointment - Deb is the farmer. Tell her you are friends of ours. 207-752-6106. Located on route 25, Livingston (past Watson’s).
There is another farm that we recently started to go to that has pork, the information is on the fridge.

If you are a bit more adventurous, along Route 25, just before the NH border, you will find a place for parking along the river that has a rope on a tree that is popular for jumping in.
