Steder å bo i Parrog
The cabin is located in stunning scenery, nestled midway between Carningli Mountain, Ty-Canol ancient oak woodland & the foothills of the Preselis & only 3 miles from the sea. With an outdoor hot tub, it's easy to kick back and relax.
Our fully insulated wooden cabin is just a couple of miles from Newport, Pembrokeshire. The cabin perches on the top of one of a series of 3 nearby mounds (the origin of which is still unclear, but you can see the other two from the garden) and over looks stunning scenery. The building is sunny, warm, light and airy, with a woodburning stove for when the weather is cooler. The water is heated by solar panels and a log boiler down in the main house. The hotub and garden has lovely views and you can sit back and enjoy incredible sunsets behind carningli mountain. Guests and friends often tell us that they have not slept and relaxed so well for a long time. Maybe it's because there are very few places left in Britain where you cannot hear the hum of a busy road or the sound of vehicles every few minutes. Here at the cosy Cabin, the small lanes are extremely quiet and you are completely surrounded by nature. All around you are hills, mountains, wooded valleys, streams and great mature oaks, ash and sycamore. Except for the neighbouring farm buildings, you could easily believe that you are tens of miles from civilisation; yet just over the side of Carningli (the rocky ancient volcano you can see from the garden) and only 3 miles away is the small bustling town of Newport. Newport is a tiny town that has an incredible variety of attractions including farmers market (on Mondays), award winning cafes, pubs and restaurants, local shops and art galleries and of course the sea with a beautiful sandy beach, cliff walks and sandunes. Before going into more detail I need to be clear on the location and type of property this is. The cabin has a compost loo which is a dry system that works without a flush, where the waste is converted into fertile soil for the apple trees. The loo does not smell bad in case you were wondering, but is not the same as a flush toilet. Access to the cabin involves some steep steps and a slightly uneven path with some leaves and loose small stones. It is not a modern set-up with a tarmac driveway with all the latest mod-cons (unless you're talking super comfortable beds, cooking, showering and hotub!) The best thing to do before booking is read through a number of reviews as well as much of the description as possible to get a feel for the place to make sure it's right for you. The cabin is open plan with a large curtain to separate the downstairs bedroom. There is a king size bed downstairs and a double mattress upstairs, and a travel cot if needed. We only make up the downstairs bed when there is one person or a couple staying, but if you'd prefer to sleep upstairs, just let us know before your stay. There is an electric shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom. The garden has chairs and there is a veranda for undercover outside dining. The outdoor electric hot tub is partly powered by the solar panels in the garden (as is the whole cabin), and it is hot and ready to use all the time. We will need access to the hot tub to check the levels, change filters etc if needed, but we always try to do this while guests are out. While we do provide a set of towels (one bath towel and one hand towel per guest), it might be an idea to bring an extra towel for the hot tub, and maybe a dressing gown. Some slip on shoes would also be useful for going between the cabin and the hot tub. As we are out in the sticks, mobile service is intermittent, but most networks can get signal somewhere, even if it means a trip to the garden or short walk into the field. There is no landline or internet in the cabin. We have been toying with the idea of getting the cabin connected, however, every single guest (even those that were expecting wifi) have told us at the end of their stay they were so happy not be distracted by their mobile phones, email etc. And that their experience was so much richer for it that we should definitely not introduce it... being cut off from social media addiction for even just a few days is incredibly relaxing and refreshing and is so rare these days. It is easy to forget how good for the mind the experience of spending quality time together, reading, playing games, talking and being able to completely relax is. So if you are worried about being off screen for a few days, don't be, as it really does make for a fantastic experience. Many of the pubs etc in newport do have free wifi if you do need to get online. If you would like to have a tv with DVD player please enquire and we should be able to provide without issue The cabin is self catering, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with a fridge, kettle, toaster and an induction cooker and Samsung oven which are super efficient and a pleasure to use. Some basics are provided, like salt, pepper, some herbs and spices and cooking oil. There will be complimentary tea and coffee (ground, for the caffetiere). There is no washing machine, but I would be happy to do a wash for you at a cost of £2 a load. We also have a dryer, which would be an extra £2, but there is also a drying line outside the cabin. Newport has a launderette too, opposite the Golden Lion pub. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided. If it's raining, there is a fantastic new local cafe in Newport called Pwnc that has an indoor climbing wall free for cafe customers and great for kids. there are also great indoor theme parks like Blue Lagoon etc. not too far away, and the hotub can be fun in the rain. There are a host of other fair weather types of activities close at hand too.
North Pembrokeshire is much quieter than the south and has a unique combination of rocky outcrops, stunning beaches and coastal path, wooded valleys and enclaves, friendly neighbours and a night sky with hardly any light pollution, resulting in a fantastic the view of the stars. The more well-known stunning beaches of Newport, Poppit and Whitesands are interspersed with little gems that are much quieter and actually often much more beautiful such as Cwm Yr Eglwys only a few miles away. The neighbourhood is a mix of traditional welsh farmers, smallholdings and people that have chosen a sustainable path and live off the land (this includes communities such as Lammas and Brithdir Mawr, as well as groups of families that share giant vegetable growing plots and a cow where each household takes a turn at milking!), stone farmhouses and cottages interspersed with hobbit style dwellings and homes made from natural materials. The Gwaun Valley that starts at our property is a sight in itself. Its vast densely wooded sides leads down to a welsh community that has culturally changed very little for centuries. They still celebrate their own new year, have a primary school still running strong with only 24 pupils in total and have a pub that is old as they come and only serve beer from jugs. There are plenty of beautiful sights and places of interest within walking distance along beautiful winding quiet backroads. The large organically farmed field next door with the large oak tree atop an ancient mound is ours and provides a stunning short walk or sports/activity ground (we have football nets to borrow), depending on the livestock! Ty canol woods (less than 1 mile away) is home to an ancient stunted oak woodland, rocky outcrops and carpeted in mosses and lichens, it is like walking into a fairytale book. The woods lead on to the larger rocky outcrops of Carnau meibion Owen which looks out to the preseli hills and also the ancient burial chamber of Pentre Ifan. The heather strewn slopes of Carningli mountain (less than 1 mile away) are well worth a climb, the views from on top are spectacular. Newport has a stunning large sandy beach with dunes and is great for swimming. The town of Newport has become famous for its array of great cafes, restaurants and shops including a wholefood shop, butchers, hardware store, fishmongers (specialising in locally caught fish), pharmacy, newsagents, craft collective, antique centre, Spar and a local produce market on a Monday morning. Our closest neighbours (300 yards ish), Simon and Kerry at Tyriet farm have opened a micro brewery (Bluestone brewing co.), and you can drop in and pick up a bottle or three of their finest ales.

Quiet Earth Eco House; A really magical place; Grand Designs Eco home award winner 2008 is a two storey loadbearing straw bale house (first in the UK). A luxurious off grid home, offering a truly sustainable experience in a very beautiful and quiet haven. Situated in St Dogmaels on a hilltop overlooking breathtaking views of Cardigan estuary, close to local beaches and the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath. We look forward to supporting your retreat here and sharing the many gifts of this place.
This straw bale eco retreat home was self built between 2003-05 and generated much attention due to it's unique nature. Please read the full description before booking! It is a beautiful peaceful retreat centre, offering special time to relax in an untouched woodland upon a hill overlooking spectacular views of the Teifi estuary. There are various idyllic beaches within a couple of miles of here and many inspiring walks. We are two miles from the start of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It is also an off grid home, powered by the sun and the wind and this is one of it's important features, giving one the opportunity to experience living with the elements and being powered by them. Low energy appliances may be used with awareness such as occasional laptops etc. (no hairdryers/ straighteners or heating appliances). The Nature of this place does also invite the visitor to just enjoy being switched off for a while and to experience the gifts of the environment. Downstairs you will find a large open plan kitchen and living room with a wood stove which heats the whole house. There is a downstairs bathroom in a rounded stone turret with sunken bath and rain water harvested toilet. Water is solar heated and back boiler heated in the winter. The house offers a long conservatory to enjoy the stunning estuary views. We have 2 delightful and gentle cats here called Elma and Arthur in the house and then daphne the dog who will be with us in the eco lodge close by. We can arrange at times for the cats to be out of the house and use the conservatory for short periods. If you have serious cat allergies however this may not be for you. Upstairs offers a beautiful and spacious open plan room which offers itself as a luxury bedroom and studio for a couple or a space for family or occasionally a retreat space for a group of up to 8 with low futon style beds. In the warmer months there occasionally is a self contained eco lodge too. The wood fired hot tub will Only be available from early summer at certain discretionary times for long staying guests who can enjoy the ritual of gathering wood, heating the stove and then bathing under the stars. Please note; this takes a good few hours to prepare and so is Not available for short stays due to the sustainable aspect of this centre. The woodland is terraced, with paths for visitors to explore and we are currently developing a forest garden. We also encourage artists and writers in residence to spend time here working in a natural and supportive environment on a project. We can offer subsidy for this also at times. Please note; this is a natural straw bale/ clay built home and we hire a wonderful cleaner to scrub the place...we use no chemicals in the process.. it is perfectly clean in the best eco natural way possible. Yes, there can be spiders and insects around in the summer.. please bear this in mind as a natural part of living close to Nature.
The beauty of this place is all that Nature has to offer along with the gifts of many of the creative people living in the nearby village and surrounding area. There are many circular walks for which we can give directions. We are situated at the beginning of the pembrokeshire coastal path and close to an array of stunning beaches. Our local beaches Poppit and Mwnt have regular sitings of bottle nosed dolphins and seals. Cardigan town is a few miles away along the estuary and offers shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema, spa and a heritage centre. In the heart of the village is a ruined Abbey, a visitors centre and cafe. The village offers a good few pubs along the river, a wonderful deli with homemade produce and cafe. The Stable is a recently converted barn in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with great views of the sea and fields. It is a good place for couples, solo adventurers, hikers, bird watchers, seal spotters and stargazers who are looking for peace and tranquillity. The spectacular coastal path is a short walk away. The stable is eco-friendly and comfortable with underfloor heating, modern media facilities and a bathroom that has received much praise from our guests.
This 19th century stable was converted to a small house two years ago. It has one bedroom on a mezzanine. It has great views and is located at the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. It is very quiet here and gets very dark at night.
The Stable is part of Ty Isaf Farm, of which the main farmhouse has not had the restoration it deserves yet. We are not building at the moment. The farm has a private drive off a dead-end road in the pretty hamlet of Llanwnda on the Strumble peninsula.

A very snug and cosy cottage with a warm, friendly feel. A tasteful mix of traditional and contemporary artisan. Woodburner, secluded terrace and access to a beautiful garden near the heart of beautiful Newport town. A compact and bijou kitchenette and bathroom, light and airy bedroom with views into the garden. A short leisurely walk from the beach, estuary, coastal path as well as the fantastic array of pubs, cafes, restaurants, art galleries and amenities in town. Ideally situated.
The Snug is private and cosy. We provide a bag of logs for the fire for each night you stay (extra logs are available at a cost of £6.50 per basket). We also provide crisp white bed sheets, white soft towels and eco friendly shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Newport is known for its excellent choice of eating places. Being foodies ourselves we have lots of recommendations for local eateries and hostelries. There are two local breweries as well as a fine selection of pubs. There is also an extensive wholefood shop and mini supermarket. Despite the small size of Newport town it offers an amazing number of amenities including: an old fashioned family run hardware store, an antique shop, chemist, newsagent, doctors surgery, natural healthcare centre, lifestyle clothes shop, post office and cash point! For art lovers there are art galleries and artisan gift shops. The local beach offers the perfect place to swim, walk or simply sit and enjoy the sunset.

    Phil2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

Anbefaler sterkt.

    Katie2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

Rocket House enjoys some of the most spectacular sea views in Pembrokeshire. If that wasn't enough, it is also on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, just a stones throw from one of the country's finest beaches! Rocket is a charming little slice of living history.. it really does have to be seen to be believed! And so, we do hope you choose to stay and discover our wonderful, hidden corner of beautiful Pembrokeshire. Cari, Duncan & Family @rockethouse_poppit
Rocket is ideal for a romantic getaway, a perfect opportunity to pack your bags and head West, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. However, it is still possible to enjoy all the luxuries of modern day living! The bright and airy living room is home to mid-century & contemporary art work, comfy vintage furniture and a super eco-friendly wood pellet stove (the heart of "Rocket"). Of course, there are also captivating views.. The luxury kitchen is again bedecked with mid-century furniture, "found" objects and a bespoke kitchen with Smeg induction range and state of the art coffee machine. Sea views come as standard. The double height bedroom (the original, grade II listed building) has a luxury super-king size bed, organic cotton Toast linen, bluetooth DAB radio and a cosy window seat. The bathroom is brimming with 1930s style, with bath, overhead & handheld shower and organic soap & body wash. There is also plenty of hanging space in the large hallway, and places to put muddy boots (or dogs!)
Rocket is just a leisurely stroll (on a quiet country lane) from Poppit Sands, an utterly charming strip of golden sand, dunes and rockpools, with wonderfully clear waters and enough swell to challenge even the most seasoned surfer! Poppit's dunes are home to some very unusual wildlife (bee orchids & adders) and the lanes around Rocket are awash with wildflowers in the Spring/Summer. A short walk up the hill on the same lane (a no through road, so virtually no traffic) will lead you to Cemaes Head, a highly treasured piece of the wild, beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. From the spectacular clifftops it is possible to see multitudes of seals, dolphins and other sea & bird life. One of the loveliest things about Rocket is that you don’t have to travel far to find the most perfect beaches, countryside, wildlife or walking; it’s all right on the doorstep!

Welcome to our exceptional 150-year-old, beautifully refurbished Grade 11 listed villa. It sleeps 8 people, is pet friendly, and is extremely spacious. It has underfloor heating on the ground floor, free WiFi, and a SMART TV with Netflix. Its close to the gorgeous Parrog estuary, with its frirndly boat club & bar, and is ideal for scenic dog walks. As Pembrokeshire's 'gourmet food capital' you'll find fabulous restaurants and artisan retailers. Please note, all TOWELS AND LINEN INCLUDED IN COST.
There's total privacy for guests, as we do not live at property. The house is deceptively large, with 4 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and two beautiful lounges, one with a wood burning stove. The ground floor, including the kitchen benefits from underfloor heating, lovely in winter and spring. There's also a pretty and secluded garden, great for BBQ's and drinks, but the real beauty of the house is its proximity to the seashore, shops, restaurants and bars. You can literally park the car, and not drive anywhere for the duration of your stay. Its a gem!
Very friendly and very safe village...all shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs a 4-5 minute walk. You can spend an entire holiday at the house, without having to drive anywhere!

Romantic farm cottage near the coast, with stunning mountain views. Enjoy peace and quiet in an unspoilt landscape, yet just a short walk from the historic village of Nevern, with its ancient church and traditional pub. Nearby Newport has cafes, restaurants and galleries and is only a 5 minute drive away, as is the famous Pembrokeshire coast path. Sandy beaches, secluded coves, woodland and mountain walks are all within easy reach. A perfect retreat for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
The Cart House is stylishly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, so you can make the most of your stay in beautiful North Pembrokeshire. It's an interesting 'upside down' cottage, with the open plan living area on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Both floors have doors leading to the private patio where you will find both a barbecue, table and chairs, and an array of potted plants - perfect for al fresco eating or just star gazing. The cottage has a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire and electric heating throughout. The comfortable double bed has feather duvets and pillows and crisp cotton sheets (non feather substitutes are available for allergy sufferers). The cottage is on a farm, in a very quiet and peaceful part of Pembrokeshire. Alice is also an artist and has a small studio and gallery in the farmhouse.
We are in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, world renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. Just a short walk away is the historic village of Nevern, with its family run pub, the Trewern Arms, charming St. Brynach's church, 10th century Celtic cross and 5th century Ogham Stone. A short walk from the church brings you to the ancient Pilgrims Path, used for hundreds of years by pilgrims making their way to St. Davids. You can literally follow the Pilgrims footsteps, worn away over the centuries into the slate. The path follows the banks of the beautiful Nevern river until it reaches the sea at stunning Newport Bay. There are some fabulous walks along the coastal path, as well as beaches and coves, too numerous to mention. We are a 5 minute drive to the sea and during the summer a local bus company runs a shuttle service along the coast for walkers. The Preseli Hills are also a magical place, with numerous neolithic sites dotted throughout the area and numerous footpaths and bridle ways to explore. Nearby Newport is a pretty seaside town offering a fantastic array of eateries. We also have art galleries, an antique shop, a local butcher, wholefood shop, hardware store, Post Office, Chemist and small supermarket. There's an interesting street market held every Monday and the community run Memorial Hall has a vibrant and varied mixture of cultural events and activities running throughout the year. The Cart House is a 10 minute drive from the old county town of Cardigan, which has 2 supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) and a variety of shops along its pretty High Street. It's also worth a visit to Theatre Mwldan, which hosts a great selection of films, theatre, comedy and music events. For adventurous types there are a wealth of activities on offer, from sea kayaking and coasteering, to paragliding and surfing. Visitors to the area are often struck by something else that is rarely mentioned in the tourist brochures, and that is the warmth of the local people. We live in a very welcoming community and we all hope you'll enjoy you're stay here.

"Not only is it one of the nicest gardens I have seen in the county it is an absolute marvel." - Pembrokeshire Online. Chalet in four acres of garden and private woods in the small village of Moylegrove, Pembrokeshire with 20 minute woodland walk to the coast. Private river, waterfalls, water areas and landscaped gardens with seating areas throughout. Woodland walk directly from the chalet to local bay and coastal path (no road walking or driving). Driveway gated parking. Ducks on your doorstep!
Exclusively available on AirBnB. I live here and can go weeks without seeing or hearing another soul if I choose! The main house is only a hundred yards away and the chalet can be reached exclusively from the driveway through its own gated walkway or down from the woods with its own private path. The gardens were once open to the public and have many seats and secret areas to discover as well as our own woods to tramp through. The chalet has a smart TV and wifi broadband with Netflix and Amazon TV included. There is no mobile phone reception in Moylegrove but phones can be used through the wifi. There is one master bedroom with king bed and one smaller room with two bunkbeds. Chalet is suitable for two adults and two children. The bunkbeds are adult singles. Breakfast items and cupboard stocks provided for self-catering. Our friendly ducks live outside the chalet. They are very curious and appreciate company!
Moylegrove sits on the remotest coastal part of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The cliffs here are the highest part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It's a 20min woodland walk direct from the chalet to the bay. Poppit sands beach is only 2 miles away and Newport sands and links golf course is only 5 miles away. Both beaches can be reached by walking the coastal path at the bay. The area is extremely popular for kayaking and coastal walks. The nearest shopping and eating locations are Newport, St. Dogmaels and Cardigan. Due to its remote location there are no shops or pubs in Moylegrove itself. We have local information in the chalet of places to eat that we recommend.

A beautifully converted stone barn set in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on a small, quiet farm with access to 3 acres of privately owned woodland and riverside walks. Yr Hen Parlwr, has been skilfully converted by the owners to form a cosy, quiet cottage in a picturesque location at the foot of the Preseli hills overlooking fields and the wooded, riverside valley of Craig Rhos-y-felin, a dramatic rocky outcrop and Neolithic quarry.
The cottage was originally the farm milking parlour with dairy adjoining. The building retains the character of the original design with exposed original stone walls and a slate roof with a vaulted ceilings in the upstairs bedroom. Yr Hen Parlwr sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 large bedroom with three single beds UPSTAIRS Bedroom 1: Three single beds and triple wardrobe. Vaulted ceiling with window. DOWNSTAIRS Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with large french doors leading out onto the patio and into the garden. The dining area hosts an attractive dining table and chairs and a Welsh dresser. The lounge has TV with digital Freeview and DVD and is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with hand made, fitted rustic wooden units and an electric range cooker with additional work surfaces. There is also a large fridge/ freezer, washing machine and a microwave cooker. Bathroom: bath and shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail Bedroom 2: double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, bedside cabinets. Light, airy room with large window. OUTSIDE There is a secure garden behind the cottage with an attractive lawned area backing onto fields and a patio with garden table and seating. The garden is safe for dogs and children. A gate from the back of the garden takes you directly out onto the path around the fields and out into the woodland and moorland beyond. There is ample parking immediately in front of the cottage for two cars.
There is direct access from the cottage garden to Craig Rhos-y-felin and an extensive range of paths and walks along tranquil river banks or through the purple heather and yellow gorse of this beautiful moorland area. There is also an abundance of wildlife. Badgers and foxes are seen regularly on and around the farm and otters play down at the river. Dolphins and seals can be seen off the nearby coast, and there is a wide variety of birds including red kites, buzzards, kingfishers, woodpeckers and barn owls. On the farm, the owner’s sheep and horses will be grazing in their fields behind the cottage. This is a truly unique location with a fascinating history. Geologists have known since the 1920s that the bluestones were brought to Stonehenge from the Preseli hills but it is only recently that archaeologists have been been able to locate the actual quarries from which they came. Craig Rhos-y-felin, behind the cottage, is one of these.

We have converted Hafod Wnnog Dairy to form a cosy, quiet cottage in a picturesque location at the foot of the Preseli hills overlooking fields and the wooded valley of Craig Rhos-y-felin, a dramatic rocky outcrop and Neolithic quarry.
This is one of two cottages located on the farm and was originally the farm dairy with the milking parlour adjoining. The building retains the character of the original design with exposed original stone walls and a slate roof with vaulted ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms. UPSTAIRS Bedroom 1: double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, bedside cabinets. Vaulted ceiling with dormer window with picturesque views over the garden, field and valley beyond. Bedroom 2: Two single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and shelves. Vaulted ceiling with dormer window with views over the garden, field and valley beyond. DOWNSTAIRS Hall leading to downstairs rooms and stairs Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with large french doors leading out onto the patio and into the garden. The dining area hosts a large farmhouse dining table and six chairs and an old, rustic Welsh dresser. The lounge has TV with digital Freeview and DVD and is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with hand made, fitted rustic wooden units and an electric range cooker with additional work surfaces. There is also a large fridge/ freezer, washing machine and a microwave cooker. Bathroom: bath and shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail Bedroom 3: Two bunk beds and chest of drawers OUTSIDE There is a secure garden behind the cottage with an attractive lawned area backing onto fields and a patio with garden table and seating. A gate from the back of the garden takes you directly out onto the path around the fields. There is ample parking immediately in front of the cottage for up to three cars.

The Barn is located in a magical setting with stunning scenery. Only 1.5 miles from Newport with its restaurants, we are a stones throw from Carningli mountain, the Preseli's and the ancient woodlands of Ty Canol, but still only 3 miles from the beach. Just breath in the fresh air and relax. The Barn is the perfect place to self-isolate and is hygienically cleaned between bookings.
The Barn is located in the grounds of a main house but completely separate with it's own outdoor area. Beautifully furnished with an exotic mix of modern and antique furniture and textiles. It's thoughtfully equipped for all your needs so that you can make the most of your stay in Pembrokeshire. The homely kitchen has an Irish dresser with flagstone floors and is the perfect place for organic cooking . The living area is open plan with a wood burning fire to keep you cosy in the evenings and there is underfloor heating as well as hot water whenever you need it. When the sun is out you can open the patio doors to a south-facing private outdoor area for eating alfresco. The galleried bedroom is snug and romantic with warm Welsh blankets & Afghan textiles. We try and provide you with everything you might need and this includes a starter log pack, towels ( not beach towels), toiletries and a welcome basket of local produce. The barn is beautifully furnished with local art and all my favorite things. There are books to enjoy as well. At a squeeze you can also fit in two friends on the sofa bed in the living area if you aren't worried about privacy. It's the perfect peaceful place for slow living. The parking is shared with the main house on the same property and whilst the outside area of The Barn is separate and private it is not fenced off if you have a pet.
The Barn is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, world renowned for its outstanding natural beauty and the only coastal park in the UK. Cilgwyn is in the heart of this in the north of the county which is quite different and quieter to the south; full of rugged exceptionally magical landscapes, wooded valleys, stunning coast, eccentric and interesting characters, and I swear a few wood fairies!. The Bluestones of Stonehenge were hewn from the rock only a few miles away, and the whole area is full to brimming with ancient history and rich with legends. This is a very special and magical location. You can explore the enchanted Ty Canol Woods, the Gwaun Valley and the wilderness of the Preseli Hills. Discover ancient trails, Iron Age Fort, Neolithic burial sites and places to stand and stare at the glorious views. Pentre Ifan burial chamber is close by and if you look closely you'll find a secret hidden one on the property! There are wild horses on the mountain and it's a fantastic walk to the top. For a quick beer to recover try the Bluestone Brewery which is only 2 minutes walk away and is open most days until 4pm. The Candle Workshop is also close by and makes for a fascinating visit. Whilst Newport is close by, The Barn is actually in the parish of Nevern where there is an ancient Pilgrims Path used for hundreds of years by pilgrims making their way to St Davids. The light here is different, and the air is clean and unpolluted. Look out for the amazingly clear night sky giving a fantastic view of the stars. There are so many fantastic walks on the doorstep it’s impossible to describe them all. Likewise, there are many beaches and secret coves that you can explore from the coastal path which is only a 5 minute drive away and during the summer is accessible via a local bus company that runs a shuttle service along the coast for walkers. The Preseli Hills are also a magical place, with numerous neolithic sites dotted throughout the area and many footpaths and bridle ways to explore. Newport is a pretty seaside town which has become famous for its array of great cafes, restaurants and shops including a whole food shop, butchers, hardware store, pharmacy, newsagents, craft collective, antique centre, Spar, Post Office, outdoor clothes shop and fantastic art gallery. Newport also has a stunning large sandy beach with dunes and is great for swimming. There's a vibrant street and farmers market held every Monday and the community run Memorial Hall has a varied mixture of cultural events and activities running throughout the year. The Barn is also only a 10 minute drive from the old county town of Cardigan, which has 2 supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) and a variety of shops along its pretty and active high street. It's also worth a visit to Theatre Mwldan, which hosts a great selection of films, theatre, comedy and music events. For adventurous types there are a wealth of activities on offer, from sea kayaking and coasteering, to paragliding and surfing. To the south of Newport you can drive to St Davids the smallest city in the UK and visit the Cathedral, perhaps do some surfing at Whitesands beach and explore further down the coast past Newgale beach, which also has beautiful windswept beaches and coves. Visitors to the area are often struck by something else that is rarely mentioned in the tourist brochures, and that is the warmth and diversity of the local people and the extended community who have come here from afar. There are all sorts of people who have visited the area and haven’t left because they loved it so much! We live in a very welcoming and interesting community and we all hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

A log cabin comprising of a large living area and kitchen, separate bedroom, and bathroom, The Llama Lodge is utterly unique and original in that it is the only place you can stay while llamas graze nearby. We also offer guests the opportunity to participate in one of our llama treks - message us for more details (must be booked ahead of arrival in most instances)
The Llama Lodge is based at Glanrhydwilym farm - home of the Pembrokeshire Llamas, our 5 star TripAdvisor rated llama trekking experience. Why not book in with us (prior to arrival) to take your very own llama for a walk during your stay? Glanrhydwilym sits snuggly on the side of the wooded valley of Rhydwilym, which in turns is nestled just south of the Preseli mountains and Pembrokeshire National Park. Glanrhydwilym is home to llama farmers Matt and Alex, plus their young son Macsen. In addition to our llamas, also in residence are our two pigs (Boris and Wilym), our eight cats, parrot, tortoise and guinea pigs. We have a free range hedgehog family who are often seen after dark with their baby hoglets in tow. In the warmer months, our family of bats descend from the roof of the main house and soar across the valley looking for food. On a clear night, the Llama Lodge is a great place to star gaze - Pembrokeshire boasts some of the best dark sky opportunities in Britain, and on a good night it is possible to observe the spectacle of the Milky Way or the constellations such as Orion with the naked eye. Also at night, you are likely to hear plenty of owls calling. Depending on the season, they can be quite rowdy! The Llama Lodge has the following amenities: Heating: log burner 20 MBPS Wifi (can be turned off if unwanted) Gas oven and stove Microwave oven Toaster Kettle Fridge Shower Sinks Flushing toilet Hot water Drinking water A travel cot and high chair can be provided upon request. A single camp bed can be provided upon request.

Vil anbefale.

The Lower Coach-house is situated on the slopes of a wooden valley overlooking the fishing harbour of Lower Town. It is completely self contained offering a haven of peace and quiet with sea views from every room. The apartment, below the owners home is part of an attractive characterful, stone building, approached by a flight of stone steps. It is comfortable furnished and has an area of lawn and patio with views towards the harbour. There is about 100m to the town square and Coastal Path.
Fishguard is the site of the last invasion of main land Great Britain. Goodwick the twin town is the ferry port to Ireland. It's a friendly place with about 15 pubs, restaurants and we have a Folk festival in late May and Jazz festival late August

While Newport has plenty of offer during your stay in Pembrokeshire it is within a 30-minute drive from some of Pembrokeshires top attractions. Our recommendations would be Dina's Head, Strumble Head Light House, Fishguard, Porthgain and Abbereidy. Carningli Mountain is a must if you enjoying exploring and hiking. The peak provides 360 degree views of Pembrokeshire. During the incline you will stumble across old hut circles from forgotten civilisations. These were once lived, farmed and defended this part of Pembrokeshire and contribute to our Welsh history. Newport (Trefdraeth), meaning 'Beach Town' in Welsh, straddles the Fishguard to Cardigan road at the mouth of the River Nevern. The ancient port of Parrog is the home of a stunning beach, castle, church and other attractions. A riverside haven, with unsurpassable views of the Teifi, ideal for walkers on the nearby beach & coastal path, kayak paddlers and RHIB boating (all available on site), or just plain sun bathing and paddling, before enjoying a meal in a local pub (nearest is just next door-but-one)
Not only is Jonathan a unique riverside location on the Teifi, with its own deck and jetty, but use of up to x3 river kayaks and/or my inflatable RHIB boat are all included (at no extra charge). The large and pleasant beach called Poppit in the Pembs Coast National Park, is just a couple of miles down the road, & marks the start of the award winning National Pembs Coastal Path. This part of the world is blessed also with many sites of local interest from medieval castle to wildlife sanctuaries; and there are many local pubs and restaurants to choose from for both lunch and the evenings. The kitchen is fully fitted with washing machine, cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and all kitchen utensils, breadboard, knives, grater, saucepans, etc. Everything you need for self-catering.
The riverside village of St Dogmaels is on the northern border of Pembrokeshire, formed by the River Tivy (Teifi) close to the market town of Cardigan. St Dogmaels is significant because the Pembrokeshire coast path starts or finishes here, depending on which way you're walking it. The village has three main attractions all in close proximity to each other: St Dogmaels Abbey, The Coach House (St Dogmaels Heritage Centre) and Y Felin Water Mill.
