Point of Interest
“The Roman ruins of Pollentia are the most important archaelogical ruins from Roman times in Mallorca and the only one that can still be visited. The roman city was founded in the first century BC and it was the capital of Majorca and all the Balearic Islands during the Roman domination. There is also a Museum near the local Church that brings together the main archaelogical discoveries found in Pollentia.”

“Alcúdia's market is one of the most important on the island due to its atmosphere and the wide variety of products; fruits, vegetables, shoes, clothes, souvenirs, leather, hippy products, hair plaits, African items, Mallorcan doughnuts, jewellery, bed linen, small animals, and a lot more. The market spreads out through the old town, inside the walls and near the Roman city of Pollentia. Alcúdia's market takes place every Tuesday and Sunday from 8'30 am to 1'30 pm. There's a bus line linking Port d'Alcúdia with Alcúdia centre every 15 minutes. There are also taxi and horse and carriage services. Car parking is easy.”

City
“Its an old village sorrounded by walls. There are a roman ruins, a church, old bullring and the streets are amazing. It´s very nice to have a walk in the village. Cultural route through the old town centre which has been developing since the Catalan conquest in 1229. Short after that date Sant Jaume's church was built. But it was not until the reign of Jaume II when the building of the walls began. This trip shows you the different landmarks that history has left in this ancient old town. You'll discover the different walls (mediaeval and renaissance), the wall gates and the wall bastions, Sant Jaume's church, Saint Christ's chapel as well as the most important houses (casals). ”
