ALL food we order on the tour is included in the price! In this neighborhood of Queens, carts and trucks come out with some of the most delicious food to be had in NYC. Many places we visit are hole in the wall, hidden gems that aren't easily noticed if you were to walk through the neighborhood on your own. These are places that we frequent and where we eat often and want to share them with you! We'll also share more information about the neighborhood, vendors and cuisines so you can learn more along with getting a great meal. Often, the vendors will change by day, so each tour may be unique. Our journey may take you from Tibet to Mexico and more in between. In this vibrant experience hosted by Dr. Honeybrew, your coffee grinds are projected onto a giant monitor allowing for all of the symbols to be witnessed and analyzed right before your eyes! You will leave knowing both your future & how Turkish coffee fortune reading is conducted. Decaf options are available for those who are caffeine sensitive. Where we will see iconic buildings, , Ground Zero & The NY stock exchange (Bull statue) Take pictures with the Wall Street Bull and the Fearless Girl statues We then head through the 5 Points, China Town & Little Italy districts. Lots of history in these areas. Gangsters, amazing food & iconic buildings. Chinese, Irish, and Italians immigrants arrived here & created the best areas of New York! First of all! Our classes are small. We want you to really experience this privately. The class is Very hands on. In this class you will learn how to make pasta from scratch. You’ll also learn how to make pasta and a sauce from scratch. Using all natural delicious farm ingredients. You will learn to make the pasta, sauce and garlic bread in this class. All our herbs come right from our in house Hydroponics herb garden. It’s a great hands-on class that you could do with friends or a private party. I have been teaching these classes for over 13 years and it’s a lot of fun. No need to bring anything everything is covered. You’re also welcome to bring wine if you choose. If you’re vegan, a vegetarian, gluten-free, or keto please let us know in advance so we can have the ingredients for you. You will make and be taught how to do this using your hands. We are making Neon signage because its FUN and green. Compared with traditional glass neon lights, neon designs made from LED are brighter, more beautiful and are not easily damaged. You don't have to worry about broken glass, no noise, safe and environmentally friendly. Reducing energy consumption is one way to go green. Another is to reduce the amount of toxic materials released into the environment. We will design our signs (Mock up), install clamps, cut desired shapes, glue, wire, and test strips. Put it all together on a piece of biodegradable wood. The wood pieces range from 10X10 - 12X12 inches or larger depending on what's available. Invite your friends, let's turn this into a party. This is a beginner’s course to neon sign making. More like a cheat version, or I should say the safer greener version, with no glass involved. This is also a more environmentally friendly approach to energy consumption and design as LED’s are a greener option for lighting. We're doing shapes, initials, or any other small design you can come up with. The purpose of this experience is for you to learn about the importance of energy conservation. Learn about the transition of Neon Signs from glass to LED, and how you can source and create your own LED signs at home. Welcome to Studio 2! You’ll be signing up for our Fusing 101 workshop, which is our most popular experience! This course runs for two hours and is given in a small group setting of 2-6 people. First, we’ll go over a little bit of health and safety protocols. Next, we talk about our tools/materials, and the fusion process. This is followed by some practice cutting the glass. Finally it’s off to the design phase which becomes your final project! Our goal is an 8x8 square plate of your own design. Once the fusing and slumping process is completed you are welcome to come back to pick up your project, or it can be shipped for an additional fee. Classes are held on: Thursday nights at 6pm and Saturdays at 4pm. This is perfect for anyone ages 10 and up. No experience necessary!

So, uh, why does New York build "really, really big things?" We tend to do that a lot. This is a fast-paced & funny walking essay that explores the answers to that question through the story of the Brooklyn Bridge. And to do so, we have to look the historical stories of immigration, engineering and political machines. With this tour, we use the bridge and it's bloody, weird history to get a deeper understanding of what is not only New York City, but what makes any city a city. Other things to note - This will be a mile of walking, with frequent breaks so be prepared to do a little exercise. - We will not end the tour where we start, but in a neighborhood called DUMBO where there will be many transportation options to easily get you where you need to go.

The original NYC sketching experience returns for Spring & Summer 2024! Embark on a sketching adventure through the iconic Grand Central Terminal & vibrant Midtown Manhattan with local artist and creativity guide Ben Ponté. No prior sketching or art skills required. Pocket sketchbook and supplies included! We meet in the magnificent Grand Central Terminal, where we'll kick off with introductions & engaging warm-up sketching exercises to spark creativity. From there, we sketch our way through the terminal & its surroundings, & weather permitting, continue the exploration up to the NYC Public Library. This is not a technical drawing class, but a way of using drawing to more fully experience & reflect on the visual energy of NYC. When we sketch we engage with what we see in fresh & exciting ways. Sketching allows us to pause, step back, & observe. It is a reflective experience that enlivens the senses & connects you with the source of your own creativity.
