It is close to the conservation village of Cardross and about 6 miles from Helensburgh, one of western Scotland’s most desirable towns. Cardross is a quiet village with a respected primary school, tennis club, bowling club and one of the finest golf courses in west central Scotland. There is also a village store, post office and country pub. Helensburgh is a larger town offering more extensive services. The birthplace of John Logie Baird, the inventor of television, the town now offers an excellent range of local and specialist shops and supermarkets including Waitrose.     Very comfortable clean spacious home from home. The house is a detached villa with wheelchair access and has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room and a gym. There is a large double bedroom down stairs next to a large wet room and toilet which would be suitable for someone with mobility issues / wheelchair. The village of Renton is a 5 minute journey from Loch Lomond by train and 15 minutes by bus. The city of Glasgow is 40 minutes by train and 60 minutes by bus

    The village of Renton has its own small Robert the Bruce Centre with lots of information on local history it also has the great Carman fishery up Carmen Hill which is a beautiful 20 minute walk from the house. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport (bus and train) to picturesque Loch Lomond and Helens burgh as well as trendy and historic Glasgow
  • Vi bodde i en hytte over natten på vei til Edinburgh, så så ikke mye av Renton. Huset ligger bare 5 minutter fra jernbanestasjonen, som var ganske praktisk for oss. Rommene er rene og koselige, ingen problemer med å sjekke inn. Bernadette fikk oss til å føle oss veldig velkomne, hun er en fantastisk vert!

  • Hun er en fantastisk vert, som gjorde alt for å sikre at vi føler oss komfortable, men ga oss all den private plassen vi trengte. Huset er veldig søtt, det ligger like i nærheten av jernbanestasjonen og har et fantastisk kjøkken, hvor du enkelt kan lage din egen mat. Hun har gitt oss mange tips og anbefalinger for turen vår. De fleste ser ut til å bo her bare en natt, men jeg anbefaler det på det sterkeste som et sted å bo for en lengre ferie. Etter kort tid føles det bare som hjemme. Takk skal du ha, Bernadette!

    Welcome to our cosy, warm and stylish flat close to Glasgow & on Loch Lomond's doorstep! Our one-bedroom flat is in a 130 year old building and is in a leafy, quiet, residential neighbourhood overlooking the historic Dumbarton Castle, which is a 5 minute walk and open to visitors. Close by there are numerous shops, convenience stores, takeaways and 2 supermarkets. A short drive away is Loch Lomond National park and the train station (2 minute walk) takes you to the major Scottish cities!
    Our flat is in a lovely old building which dates back to the 19th century, so if you’re looking for bags of character and old period features, this is the perfect choice. However, if you’re looking for modern, sleek lines and pristine living, a more modern apartment/building may be better suited! The ground floor apartment is very cosy with dark tones, natural wood and lovely soft furnishings. There is a HD 4K TV, compatible with your laptop, with smart TV apps, Netflix, YouTube, BBC IPlayer etc and fast broadband internet throughout the apartment. The bedroom has a large walk-in wardrobe and full-length mirrors, as well as a dressing table overlooking the private garden and utility with washing machine. Our bathroom is traditionally styled and provides fluffy towels, large old bathtub and a powerful shower, too! Our kitchen is small, modern & perfectly designed for all your needs, with cupboards full of essentials and condiments to use. To the front of the property are views of the leafy square where we personally love to enjoy a coffee and read in the mornings! There's plenty of free on-street parking all around the flat, too. We love having people use our space and will do everything possible to make your stay perfect. We can arrange transport to/from Glasgow Airport for you, too.     Our neighbourhood is extremely quiet and friendly. The flat itself overlooks a lovely leafy square, with benches to sit and admire the historic views. We're right beside Dumbarton Castle which is on top of Dumbarton Rock, and there is a local shore walk which can be enjoyed, too. Perfect for dog walkers! As your hosts, we aim to provide you with a comfortable stay and free, home-made breakfast. We are always available to share useful travel information about local attractions, including the Antonine Wall, Dumbarton Castle, the River Leven Heritage Trail, birding sites and much more. We are fluent in English and Mandarin and can communicate in Spanish and Polish.
    Living room - a comfortable space with two sofas, a coffee table and a range of interesting artefacts, each with its own story of our travels to many countries. The connecting dining area has a great garden view and free tea and coffee facilities throughout your stay. Bedroom - a quiet, cosy place which is free from distraction, hopefully aiding you in getting a restful night’s sleep with the help of a king-sized bed and herbal fragrance. Bathroom - an electric shower, bath and all essential toiletries will hopefully provide all you need to refresh yourself after a long day of travelling or exploring. Garden and outside area - a sheltered front garden gives way to a spacious, south-facing rear garden via an open-access alleyway. Although we cannot guarantee fine weather at any time of year, we are certain you will be surrounded by birdsong and the colours of nature as you sit on the patio. Guest access You will have your own bedroom with wifi and full access to the shared bathroom, living room, dining area and gardens.
    The quaint and picturesque town of Dumbarton, due to its strategic location at the confluence of the rivers Clyde and Leven, was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Strathclyde. Its defining feature, Dumbarton Castle, is a must-visit place. Throughout history, Saint Patrick, Vikings, William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots and many more famous people have had connections with it. What is the connection between Dumbarton and tea? As a major shipbuilding town, Dumbarton was the place where the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark was constructed in 1869. It was the fastest clipper on Earth at that time and the Maritime Museum in the town centre lies on the site on which it was built. For outdoor lovers, Levengrove Park sits at the confluence of the two rivers, directly facing Dumbarton Castle. It is an ideal spot for nature and bird lovers, being home to a large colony of redshanks in the winter months and a place of great biodiversity all year round.     A comfortable room in the foothills of the Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking Dumbarton and the River Clyde to the South. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport to picturesque Loch Lomond as well as trendy & historic Glasgow. In-house complementary therapies also available. We live with our lovely dog, Dexter. Whilst the shared spaces are definitely not going to win any prizes from lovers of show-homes, these spaces are clean. Guest-room and the bathroom are clean & tidy.
    We have a small semi-detached house and the guest room is up a short flight of stairs. In the room is a double bed with bedside tables & lamps on both sides, along with available power sockets, a wardrobe, drawers, a heated drying rack and and an oscillating fan (these live in the wardrobe); and a TV with Freeview & a Bluray player (there are a selection of films available to borrow from downstairs & you can also use Netflix & catch-up TV services). The room is well decorated with good quality bedding. It has a radiator to keep you warm in the winter and we can always provide additional blankets if necessary. Each bedside drawer unit has a hot water bottle in the top drawer. In one of the drawers, you'll find a hairdryer, and on the other side, there is a small first aid kit available if you have need of it. There is a great view from the bedroom to the Kilpatrick Hills, beyond our back garden there is nothing but fields! The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and has an excellent shower, towel rail, toothbrush charger, etc. We provide towels. We are happy for guests to use our kitchen and dining table with the understanding that these form the backbone of our personal space. As such, these spaces may be found to be messy at times, but always clean. We sometimes have a clothes airer up in the kitchen, particularly in the autumn and winter months. If mess bothers you, or you just want to relax in your own space, then there are little folding tables in your room for you to eat at. Your bedroom and the bathroom will always be clean and well presented. We have good mobile phone reception here but of course will make our wifi available for any internet junkies! We have a couple of bikes available for hire, a mountain bike and a hybrid, both small/medium size. We can supply locks and helmets too, plus maps/advice about the best local routes. Please ask if you want any more details. Prices are £5 each per day, and we're happy to negotiate a discount if you want them for a few days. Amy works as a complementary therapist, so if you're feeling tired, stressed out, or just wanting some tlc whilst you're away from home, you can book in for therapeutic massage, reflexology, Indian head massage, ear candling, aromatherapy massage and aromatherapy facials too, mere steps away from your bedroom door. She is insured and is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies, so you can be confident of being in good hands. Costs for the above therapies are as follows: Reflexology - £20 Indian Head massage - £18 Ear Candling - £15 Massage (Swedish, Aromatherapy, Acupressure and Neuromuscular): £15 for 30 mins; £18 for 45 mins; £22 for 60 mins.     We live on a quiet street so you'll be able to hear birds singing, which is always nice. For the more adventurous (preferably with sensible walking boots) you can explore the fields to the back of us and get some great views of the local area. There is a local convenience store 5 minutes walk away (which also has a cash machine) plus several take-aways and a small community cafe are about 15 minutes walk away (or a couple of minutes by car).

While convenient for the airport and central Glasgow, the village is also a great base from which to explore the Clyde Muirshiel Country Park and RSPB nature reserve at Lochwinnoch, or the Clyde coast. The bonnie banks of Loch Lomond are just a 35-minute drive away to the north.

    The barn is on the upper floor of the Oak Framed building and feels a bit like a large loft. The open plan set up gives it a roomy feel. It has 1 large double bed plus a sofa bed can be made up for an extra guest. Being recently built, the building is well insulated and snug but there is a wood burning stove for extra warmth as well as electrical heating. Edinburgh is 60 mins by car on a clear run so we are a great base for a few days of Scottish tourism. The world class golf courses of Troon, Prestwick, Gleneagles and Loch Lomond are all within an hour drive and the islands of Bute and Arran are close by also.

It is an ideal location to explore some of Scotland's beautiful scenery and countryside.

  • Dette blir mitt tredje opphold med Katie, og hun er en fantastisk vert. Boligen er komfortabel og velutstyrt. Etterbehandling som friske blomster, frukt og melk blir verdsatt. Innkvarteringen er bare en kort drosjetur fra Johnstone togstasjon (koster ca £ 6), og er perfekt plassert for å få tilgang til den vakre landsbyen Bridge of Weir, hvor du finner et Coop supermarked og mange gode spisesteder. Du kan gå langs syklusbanen (pleide å være toglinjen) i begge retninger for flere miles. Stien er utmerket og vil være tilgjengelig for rullestolbrukere. Jeg bodde her for arbeid, men ville gjerne bestille for en ferie tur også.

  • Hva en flott finner denne leiligheten var, helt fantastisk og moderne, et helt nytt hjem hjemmefra. Jeg trengte et sted å bo fordi jeg hadde et jobbintervju i Glasgow, så jeg velger denne eiendommen ... Jeg er så glad for at jeg gjorde det, jeg kunne ikke ha ønsket et bedre sted å tilbringe litt tid ... Svært komfortabelt og romslig, og interiøret er så moderne og elegant. Leiligheten er bare perfekt, du kan ikke utsette det på noen måte. Flott beliggenhet, i nærheten av alt og alt. Med den vakreste utsikten over elven. Jeg elsket det faktum at det er en Costa kaffe rett rundt hjørnet (jeg er litt av en kaffeholic) og 24 HR Tesco supermarked var også veldig praktisk ... Svømmebassenget og badstuen er veldig hyggelig også, og bare lagt til hvor hyggelig oppholdet mitt var. Jeg ville definitivt bli her igjen i fremtiden, uten tvil ... Eieren er så hjelpsomme og vennlige også, Og ikke noe imot å vente på meg selv om jeg var nesten to timer for sent. ( Beklager...) hilsen Michel.

  • Dette har vært min beste Airbnb-opplevelse fra og med. Leiligheten var strålende, stilig og rent. verten var også veldig høflig og kommunisert alltid effektivt. Det var alle slags tips om stedet som hjalp meg med å bli akklimatisert på kort tid. Jeg hadde en utmerket uke!

    Idyllic location our cottage has a privelaged location of being directly beside the country pathway frequented by cyclists and walkers discovering and exploring Loch Lomond / West coast of Scotland and further a field or if you fancy a more cosmopolitan adventure then opt for a short train journey - the local train station is a 7 min walk and will take you to West End of Glasgow and vibrant City centre, SECC, Edinburgh, Oban, Loch Lomond Shores, Aviemore and Glencoe to name but a few, however there is many fascinating places to visit in Scotland Only 20 mins from Glasgow Airport and buses to Arrochar and the trossachs are on our doorstep too Dumbarton itself plays host to many events including the Scottish Pipe Band event not forgetting we also have our own Castle to explore along with Denny Tank museum a selection of bars and restaurants and only a stone throw away from train station taking you to Balloch, Oban, we also have excellent parkls and golf courses close by, a visit to Helensburgh is highly recommended or catch the train to Edinburgh - the list is endless! A great base for exploring and travelling with the comfort of knowing at the end of the day you can return to a warm and cosy home

    "Ava Rose" is fresh and unique converted Oil Rig Rescue Craft. Moored in Bowling Harbour on the Forth and Clyde Canal, it has great access to Glasgow City Centre as well as great routes to Loch Lomond and the Highlands. The boat has been converted to a high standard and designed to have everything a couple should need for a few days away.
    There is a large cosy ‘almost’ superking size bed, a beautiful little wood burner capable of keeping everyone warm and toasty even when the canal has frozen over. The kitchen area has a small hob, sink, fridge and all cutlery and utensils required. In the compact bathroom there is a sink, toilet and shower.
    The mooring has secure entry, with locking gates. The marina offers a coffee shop, gift shop, and bike hire. In the village, a 5min walk, there is a cosy local pub that serves food. The next village along, Old Kilpatrick (approx 1mile) has a few more pubs and takeaway shops

    The village of Renton has its own small Robert the Bruce centre with lots of information on local history it also has the great Carman fishery up Carman Hill which is a beautiful walk 20 minutes from my house. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport ( bus and train) to picturesque Loch Lomond and Helensburgh as well as trendy and historic Glasgow
