    Steven2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Stores er en fryd å bo i.

A cosy but bright log cabin , in a sylvanian setting, just yards from a public bridleway alongside the River Cober. **Please Note - the price per night is for the first guest only. Additional guests are charged at a marginal extra cost ( shown in "Pricing" > "Extra charges " on the Airbnb site) Thank you :) ** ** NEW OCTOBER 2018 - NEW 4'6" double bed ** Sleeps 4 comfortably (one 4' 6" double bed, 1 single bed in a bedroom, 1 single bed in a curtained area) ...read more in details
"The cabin" is a log cabin, in an idyllic rural location, just a few yards from a small river, with stepping stones to a tree-lined public bridleway. It is very close to my own dwelling, but not intrusive, either way. It accommodates a maximum of 4 people. A cosy, but airy log cabin with one separate bedroom (1 single bed with another underneath it, to pull out if needed....but NB, this leaves no floor space ) a main room, open to the apex, with a 4' 6" double bed, a curtained area, offset to one side , with a single bed. The shower and toilet room is in an adjacent building (4 steps away) together with a separate kitchen/ dining room. Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, condiments and of course toilet tissue. Also soap and shampoo . There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) There is access to a small paved garden area at the rear of the cabin, with chairs and a patio table This is quite private and just for your use. There is a small washing line , solely for your use, right outside of the cabin. There is access to a washing machine and tumble dryer (for a small extra charge via an honesty box) Also there is access to a small freezer. Our front garden is solely for our own family use. I will happily help you with any questions or recommendations , but I am equally happy to completely respect your total privacy. Our neighbourhood is beautiful, peaceful and calm, with just a few passing dog walkers and horse riders throughout the day, along the bridleway. It is a hamlet of about 80 dwellings, with a small library, converted from a telephone box! I know if you choose to holiday here, you will be keen to maintain the peace and tranquility. There is parking just for you (1 space) close to the cabin. There are no buses in Lowertown, but there are buses from Helston town, to visit The Lizard Peninsular, Truro, Falmouth, Penzance and Lands End areas. There are train stations in Falmouth, Penzance, Camborne, Redruth and Truro, to take you further "up the line" Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, milk, condiments and of course toilet tissue. There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) there is a travel iron and ironing board in the kitchen area. There is a mini oven with two hob plates, in the kitchen. ( NOT A MICROWAVE) Please note the approximate internal area of the log cabin ( so the sleeping area ) is 20 square metres .
I love the tranquility of the neighbourhood. You can just about hear the river winding through the woods, the buzzards calling to each other , the green woodpecker calling........very little else.

    George2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Utrolig plass og gjestfrihet

    Chris2018-11-28T00:00:00Z

Takk Bev.

    Karen2019-04-07T00:00:00Z

    Marion2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Veldig fredelig, privat og innbydende sted og gode verter.

    Anna2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Virkelig herlig sted å bo, fantastisk verdi for pengene! Absolutt anbefale bor her!

    Stevie2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfekt liten getaway. Flott beliggenhet, lett å finne. Nigel og Yasmin var nydelig vert.

    Lucy2019-03-20T00:00:00Z

Just a short drive to Porthleven harbour village with lots of popular restaurants and cafes. Praa Sands sandy beach with cafe and pub/restaurant and the South West coastal path are both within easy reach. We are 30 minutes from St Ives, Lizard Point, Falmouth and Lands End. Perfect retreat for couples.

    Mike2019-09-09T00:00:00Z

Praa Sands in the South West of Cornwall is located between Helston and Penzance. The town contains many facilities including a shop, pub, post office and Praa Sands Gold Club. Apart from the beach at Porthleven there are numerous others from Rinsey Head to Hoe Point is extremely popular with the whole family, Prussia Cove, Perranuthnoe & Marazion beaches are all within a few minutes drive. When the North Coast is 'blown out' you will find the surfers flock to Praa Sands for its powerful waves coming straight in from the Atlantic Ocean. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle which dates back to the Bronze Age.Porthleven exudes Cornish charm and tradition. Set in the middle of a huge sweeping bay, the beach at Porthleven is ideal for a relaxing family holiday. Porthleven has an impressive harbour, construction commenced during Napoleonic times and some sources state that it was built with the aid of French prisoners of war. Small fishing boats land their daily catch, much of which is sold in Porthleven's cafes and restaurants and the award winning Quayside fishmongers. The harbour was completed in 1825 and there are a wealth of traditional Cornish pubs and restaurants. The beach under Loe Bar Rd is a glorious expanse of golden sand which can provide stunning surf. The nearest large supermarkets are in Helston and Penzance.Porthleven is central for the areas and villages of the Lizard, Helford, Land's End and Mousehole. Facilities for golf, sailing, course and sea fishing are all available within two miles. You can take country and coastal walks or visit local country pubs for well-priced meals or shop in the local super stores at Helston and Penzance. There are a wealth of gardens to explore. The mines at Lelant, Geevor, Bottalack and Poldark are a short drive away. The Minack Theatre and Porthcurno beach are well worth a visit. There are world famous art galleries at St Ives and Newlyn. The Lighthouse on the Lizard Peninsula is the most Southerly point in Great Britain, having stood since 1751 warning passing ships of the infamous 'Man O' War rocks'. The Lizard has so much to offer for such a remote location. Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station is the world's largest satellite earth receiving station with over 60 communications dishes. Poldhu Cove, home of Marconi's first transatlantic radio message in 1901. The National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek moved to its current location in 1975 and is home to grey seals and common seals, as well as Californian and Patagonian sea lions. The sanctuary often rescue other marine life as well when demand requires.Trebah Gardens at Mawnan Smith is a 25 acre sub tropical privately owned gardens set above the Helford River. Nearby Glendurgan Gardens boasting a recently refurbished 177 year old laurel maze, is now owned by the National Trust. For a fun-filled family day out why not visit The Flambards Experience, offering more rides, amusements and exhibitions than anywhere else in Cornwall. On the Helford River sits Frenchman's Creek where Daphne du Maurier spent her honeymoon dreaming of the Cornish villages that set the scene for her novels.Helston was originally a thriving port until the river silted up over the years; where the river joins the sea is now Cornwall's largest freshwater lake. Helston is a busy market town with plenty of Victorian and Georgian architecture. The Monument is an impressive building at the end of Coinaghall Street which was built in 1834 in memory of Humphry Millet Grylls, whose actions kept open the local tin mine and saved 1200 jobs. Possibly one of the country's oldest privately owned brewery's can also be found in Coinaghall Street; The Blue Anchor was originally used as a rest house for monks and became a tavern in the 15th century. It now makes a strong local brew called Spingo. Helston is probably best known for the 'furry' or floral dance which is held every May. Flora Day kicks off with the Hal-an-Tow where St George and St Michael slay the dragon and the devil, cheered on by the locals dressed in Elizabethan costumes. The main dancing starts at midday with participants dressed in ball gowns and top hats and tails. For children of all ages there is Flambards Theme Park next to Culdrose Air Base famous for many air sea rescue missions. There are sights to be seen around Goonhilly Earth station where the large dish Arthur is now a listed building. Try your hand at riding a 2 wheeled Segway. These together with the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek provide any holidaymaker with a wealth of interesting visits.

Hayle is dominated by the spectacular 3 miles of golden sands that stretch north towards Gwithian Towans and Godrevy Lighthouse. A quite stunning beach that offers opportunities for sunbathing and surfing. When the wind is blowing, watch out for the windsurfers, particularly in the waves at the northern end of the beach. This is one of the best windsurfing spots in the country. Paradise Park is always popular with both adults and children with their fantastic collection of rare birds and animals. There is also a good indoor play area if the weather gets bad! St Ives, once a busy fishing village, now relies on tourism as its main industry. Turner came and painted a landscape in 1811 and art has played a part in St Ives history ever since. More recently Barbara Hepworth and the Tate Gallery have put St Ives on the modern map. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is an amazing place to visit, and well worth it even if you're not a budding artist. Trewyn Studios where she lived and worked from 1939 until her tragic death in 1975 has been turned into a fantastic museum, depicting many of her favourite sculptures in the sub tropical garden, is now managed by the Tate. The Tate Gallery St Ives was built in 1993 on the former gas works site displaying various paintings, sculptures and ceramics. From Penzance you can take the Scillonian for a day trip to the picturesque Isles of Scilly, well worth a visit if you have never been. 10 minutes down the road lies Marazion famous for St Michaels Mount, home to a medieval castle and a working local community. The Sail House at Pengelly Retreat is a luxury ensuite double yurt with underfloor heating and log burner, overlooking a wild swimming lake. Set in five acres of beautiful land, gardens and lakes, it has an incredible and peaceful lakeside location. While a stay here is all about escaping the hustle and bustle, our central location is ideal for exploring Cornwall's many attractions, with award-winning surf beaches on both North and South coasts within 15 minutes' drive.
The Sail House is a luxurious double yurt tucked away at the furthest end of a lake in a secluded spot with gorgeous sunset views. Here you can connect with nature and spend time enjoying the lakeside surroundings and the wildlife. There’s a grey heron who is a frequent visitor to this part of the lake and we often see kingfishers here too. It’s an ideal choice for a couple or single looking to get away from it all and spend time in the great outdoors without having to give up on luxuries like a soak in a bathtub or a warm floor in the morning. This is a peaceful place to reflect, meditate and recharge. The bedroom/living yurt of the Sail House is a spacious 20 foot in diameter and it is connected to a smaller en-suite bathroom yurt, complete with luxurious bathtub. Both are constructed of green waterproofed cotton canvas and polished wood to blend in with their rural lakeside surroundings. Our Sail House yurts are based on the traditional Central Asian design but are made here in Cornwall with some clever adaptations. As well as the hardy waterproof canvas materials, the roofs have a steeper pitch that gives a wonderful light and airy feeling inside. We have added in underfloor heating to help give both yurts that extra touch of warmth. There is also a log-burner in the main yurt which heats this up nicely at cooler times of year. The Sail House is connected to mains electricity with electric lights, power points and hot water on demand. The Sail House is decorated with natural colours and materials to reflect the great outdoors that is literally there on your doorstep. At night you’ll sleep in a plush bespoke-made wood frame double bed and in the morning step out onto your private decking area with lakes to either side of you. Inside the main yurt there is kitchenette complete with kettle, toaster, double hob, microwave (including cook/grill functions) and fridge. We provide guests with tea, coffee, sugar etc plus a welcome pack of milk, butter, bread and jam. Step through the doorway to your bathroom yurt you’ll find a flush toilet, wash basin and luxurious bathtub with shower attachment. In front of the Sail House entrance is a boardwalk across the lake which takes you to your sun deck. To the left of the entrance there are steps up to a raised bank looking over the lake with outside sink, table and chairs. An amazing spot for a BBQ by the lake. If you’re feeling adventurous then you can take a dip in the lake and then rinse off in your outside shower with its views across the countryside. There is something magical about the setting of the Sail House. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway in nature without compromising on your creature comforts, then this is the place for you.
We are in a peaceful and tranquil area of countryside in the heart of Cornwall but within easy driving access of a whole range of places to visit and explore. We are just 15 minutes drive from both North and South coasts and incredible surf beaches: Gwithian & Godrevy on the north coast and Praa Sands on the south. Recommended places to visit while staying with us include National Trust property Godolphin House, Porthleven's pretty fishing harbour and the beautiful walks on the Penrose Estate near Helston (all within 15 minutes' drive) . Also close by (25 minutes' drive) are the famous coastal town of St Ives and St Michael's Mount at Marazion, a fairytale islet with a castle at the top.

We offer a private double room in a family home located in a small village in west Cornwall. We are a 10 minute drive to Godrevy beach and a good base to explore the delights of west Cornwall from. The room is bright and airy in the mornings and freshly decorated in calm tones. The shared bathroom is also newly renovated with a twin ended bath with drencher shower over and underfloor heating. As we have a young toddler we cant guarantee a silent night, but he is a real character.
Our property is a modern semi detached family home with gas central heating and double glazing. Since purchasing the house we have been busy redecorating through out. So far the bedrooms and bathroom are now finished and we are now working on the sitting room and kitchen. Due to this we can't offer the sitting room and kitchen for use.
We live in a small village in West Cornwall. There is a small village shop and we are on a bus route. Although we would highly recommend only booking if you have your own car. Reawla is centrally located between Hayle, Camborne, Helston and Penzance. We would recommend using Hayle for amenities. Within a 10 minute drive is Hayle beach and Godreavy with three miles of golden sands running between the two beaches. There are plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. Especially in St Ives.

The Piggery at the newly-renovated Moorfield Barns is a spacious double room with a well-appointed en-suite shower room, set within a self-contained annexe which in the distant past (as the name suggests) was the piggery of a working farm. The annexe has separate access and features a private sun terrace and ample off-road parking. Towels and bed linen are provided, as well as free Wi-Fi, a 42" flat screen TV (with Freeview) and tea & coffee making facilities.
The name Praze an Beeble was first recorded in 1697 and means the meadow of the pipe/conduit. The pipe can still be seen in the well opposite the entrance to medical centre. There is a granite-lined ancient well on the site from which all of the domestic water is drawn. The water is of excellent quality (it is also filtered) and comes from the same source as the conduit after which the village is named. The main building which forms the owner's accommodation (formerly the cow shed, the old cart store and hay loft) is now fully modernised and joined by a large sun room. The barns lie next to the Praze Stream, which runs through the garden and eventually joins the Red River north of Nancemellin near Gwithian. The village is in the parish of Crowan and is an ideal base from which to explore west Cornwall. It is a short drive to both the north and south coasts and the main towns of Hayle, St Ives, Penzance, Helston, Camborne and Redruth are all easily accessible. Praze boasts a pub, the St Aubyn Arms (which has an excellent food menu), a village shop & post office (open 7am to 7pm, 7 days per week), a fish and chip shop and a bakery (selling the famous Philp's pasties). Historically, the St Aubyn family had their main residence here at Clowance Estate, which is now . Every July locals and visitors enjoy the Praze Fair, which involves a parade of local residents and pupils from Crowan School, and a local marching band, and is preceded by a week-long visit from a touring funfair.
