Here is a few recommendations of local eateries to enjoy:
Moonacres : https://www.moonacres.com.au/
Moonacres comprises an organic farm, cafe and – coming soon – a cooking school and restaurant. We are committed to the ethical production of the best quality food from farm to table. They have amazing coffee, food and atmosphere. They currently are open for breakfast and Lunch and will be serving dinner from December.
Robertson Inn: A heritage pub that offers a good range of food and live music on certain evenings. Uses lots of local produce and has local Southern Highlands wines and craft beers on tap, as well as the usual offerings. We recommend an easy stroll down to the pub for dinner and drinks.
Nadine’s Coffee: Good Coffee. Located in the “Green House” on the main road opposite the petrol station at the other end of the village. Roasted daily on site, winner of a number of awards including a Gold Medal at the Sydney Royal. You can also buy take home packs of coffee in full bean or ground to your requirements.
Pizzas in the Mist: Excellent wood fired pizza - dine in or take away. Open Wed - Sun.
Burrawang General Store: Open 7 days. Open 8am - 4pm. Set in a lovely vintage setting. Focused on local produce they serve excellent coffee and food. We highly recommend a visit.
Burrawang Hotel: Typical pub fare in a nice setting.
The Mill: The Mill is a mix of eateries. The main cafe is open 7 days a week however the other “street food” stalls are only open Wed - Sun. It is also home to a botanist and architecture firm as well as some art.
Eden Brewery: A small, handcrafted, independent brewery creating a wide range of fresh and unique beers. Some really unusual ones included! Cellar Door open Wed - Sun.
Major Supermarkets: Large format Coles, Woolworths and Aldi stores bunched close together on the Southern end of the main street.
If you are after a casual coffee and stroll Berrima is a lovely little town with a small set of artisan shops. It is a relaxing place to visit with shops specializing in local made produce, leather and woolen goods, quilting, lolly shops and antiques. An excellent patisserie (Gumnut) for coffee and a little treat. For the kids the playground opposite the Marketplace lets the kids have a run around in between the shops.
Glow Worm Glen: Located at the end of William St in Bundanoon is a track into the Morton National Park leading to a Glow Worm Glen. To see the Glow Worms you will need to be there after dark. The walk down will take approximately 30 minutes and we suggest starting the walk down at sunset. This will provide you with enough light to see the track down but you will not have to wait long before seeing the Glow Worms. In order not to scare the Glow Worms the national park says to remain quiet on the approach as well as not shining lights at the Glen. Also it is recommended not to wear insect repellent or any strong smells. On the walk back it will be dark so take a torch to navigate the track. You may also see Wombats throughout the walk. The best viewing of the Glow Worms is Dec - Feb.
Bernies Diner: An American style diner serving hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches and desserts. They are super friendly and it is a fun outing for kids big and small.
The Farm Club: Set on a working property the farm club has an on site cafe and farm walk for kids. You will see chicken, goats, donkeys and alpacas. They also have free range pigs and cnattle. They advertise picnic hampers however we have never sourced one from them.
Southern Highlands Brewing Company Kitchen and Taphouse: Open Thurs - Sun. 490-494 Argyle Street. Full range of SHBC Custom Brews available as tasting paddles or in normal glassware, extensive wine list, dining etc.
I have listed a few attractions and approximate travel times below.
