The village main street also has 2 cafes, Post Office, Gift Shop and small supermarket.
Yester Castle is about an hour's walk and has a gothic vaulted chamber known as the The Goblin Ha'.

A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from the village of Gifford (supermarket in this village). The location is on a farm at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great nearby walks along the picturesque beaches, foothill paths & tracks. It's also a great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as part of the cycling route! The cottage offers a truly relaxing stay in the quiet of the countryside although it is also only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh and the local villages and towns are of course nearer. The cottage is very well equipped, details of facilities are below as well as under amenities. If you are unsure about whether something is provided or would just like to check something in particular please feel free to message me. The open plan sitting and dining room: A cosy, country sitting room on the ground floor with feature stone wall, wood burning stove, Smart TV and dining for 4 The Kitchen: Well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor with wooden worktops for a country feel yet all the comforts of home with a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers and integrated appliances: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher. The Bedroom on the ground floor: This bedroom has a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. Deep pile sheepskin rugs either side of the bed add another sense of luxury. Other features include USB sockets both sides of the bed, wall mounted brass clothes hanging brackets, wall mounted smart TV, full length mirror and views out the front. The Bedroom upstairs: This bedroom can be prepared with either a super king size bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a TV, chest of drawers, bedside tables, hanging space, mirrored dressing table area, USB sockets both sides of the bed, large velux windows with integrated black out blinds for a long, deep sleep and stunning views over the open countryside when you awake. The Bathroom: Spacious, luxurious bathroom with large double-ended bath, big enough for 2 and a fixed overhead shower. Wash hand basin and WC. Wicker-chat chair with soft sheepskin rug. Large velux window with stunning views over the countryside. Perfect space to relax and unwind with unlimited hot water, just add bubbles. The Downstairs Toilet: Toilet and washbasin on the ground floor just beside the back door. Complete with coat hooks above the radiator to dry out wet outdoor clothes. The Gardens and parking: There is an enclosed garden opposite the front door with parking spaces for 2 cars and a rear garden accessed from the back door.
If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. Bring the dogs and enjoy your break. The local village of Garvald offers a great little pub (also dog friendly) with good calibre meals prepared by the hosts Peter and Elaine. Nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs are 3 miles away in Gifford though.

Bright and spacious, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, converted farm cottage with rural outlook. Situated on a working farm and within walking distance to the village of Gifford and its 2 pubs and amenities. Easy access to Edinburgh, beaches, golf courses and quaint villages full of history. Plenty of tracks and paths for walking your dog, and challenging places for cycle enthusiasts. We live close by and are always available to help.
Being a bungalow( there is one small step inside) the cottage is ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties. With a spacious open plan living and kitchen area, and access through double doors to the outside patio, you can comfortably watch the countryside unravel. The wood burning stove and supplied wood will keep you cosy. The 2 bedrooms can each be made into 1 super king size or 2 singles. One has an ensuite bathroom with an over the bath shower and the second bathroom hosts a spacious walk in shower. There is private parking and space outside to sit in the sun and relax and watch the harvest, or the cows grazing from the comfort of your chair! The garden is fenced with a gate and is reasonably secure for children and a dog We can also provide a travel cot and high chair and a toy or two for our younger guests.
Gifford is an attractive village with a paper shop, garage, well stocked small supermarket, 2 pubs and 2 coffee shops. We are also well serviced by 2 local golf clubs, bowling club and beautiful trails and walks. The Lammermuir Hills form a dramatic backdrop and are a wonderful place to escape the crowds. Empty beaches are easily accessible too.

The Maltings, Haddington is a converted mill building next to the river Tyne in beautiful East Lothian. My flat is on the ground floor so it is good for wheelchair access. There is a designated parking space in the car park. Haddington has some great shops, bars and restaurants. Edingburgh is 30 minutes by car, 45 minutes away by bus, or there is a train station at Drem close by. East lothian is great for cycling, walking or immersing yourself in our many varied ancient monuments & castles.
Guests have access to the kitchen, lounge diner and their own private bathroom
Haddington is an ancient market town. It has some terrific cycle routes with excellent coffee and cake stops along the routes.

  • Vi hadde den beste tiden i Bet og Johns hus. Det er det perfekte stedet å hvile etter å ha besøkt byen Edimbugh. Altought det er ikke veldig nært, reisen er veldig lett med buss og har den beste utsikten over Skottlands landside. Huset er nytt og moderne, har alt du trenger og så mye mer. Ting som sjampo, såpe, hårføner, du kan til og med klimere gulvet på badet og rommene. Det er 5 stjerners hus, så rent og det beste var eierne. Beth mottok oss med hjemmelagde cupcakes og kaker, appelsinjuice og melk. Jeg har ikke noe ord. Det fineste paret, hjelper alltid oss. Det gjør oppholdet så enkelt og komfortabelt. Takk dere begge! :)

Explore the ruins of 13th Century Yester Castle with a unique subterranean hall (the Goblin Ha’). East Lothian and Edinburgh offer a huge range of visitor attractions, activities and events, including the Edinburgh Festival in July/August.

    The village of Gifford is twenty minutes from East Lothian's golf coast, boasting many championship golf courses including Muirfield, and is a forty minute drive to Edinburgh.     An ideal spot for couples,solo adventurers,business travellers, families and furry friends. The cottage is situated in acres of stunning countryside with a stream running through the garden. It is equipped with a super king sized bed and extra sofa bed. Come and enjoy the countryside with the wildlife on your doorstep as well as the huge range of activities available nearby. Relax and unwind in front of the open fire.For the sightseers its only a 30 minute drive into the centre of Edinburgh!
    An easy spot to unwind but also a great base for walking, golfing, cycling, sightseeing in Edinburgh and the Borders, fishing and is close to the East Lothian beaches. The property is part of an old small holding farm which kept sheep up until recently. The cottage is next door to the main Keith Bridge House, a small 2 bedroom property where the tenants Jemima and Tim live and will welcome you and be available to help if there is anything that you need. Both properties date back to the 1850s with the cottage undergoing a recent renovation. Well known ornithologist George Waterston lived here for a number of years documenting the abundance of bird life found around the property. The stream has fish running through with herons, geese and ducks often patrolling up and down. Otters have been spotted but that is only if you are very lucky! We are pet friendly and have a large garden for dogs to safely run around in.
    The small village of Humbie is just over a mile up the road. There is a lovely cafe and general store called ‘The Humbie Hub’. The stunning Humbie church is just a short walk from the house as well as a busy Humbie village hall that often has events on in the village including film nights and coffee mornings. Just up the road the ‘Juniperlee’ is a well renowned eatery with good food. The quaint village of Gifford is around a 15 minute drive away where you can find two good pubs, the Goblin Ha and the Tyneside Tavern. For the golfers there is also the Gifford and Castle Park golf courses nearby as well as the many well renowned East Lothian courses. There are some lovely cycle routes around the quieter back roads of East Lothian that are easily accessed from the cottage. Closer to home enjoy lovely country walks around the Keith Marishal loop and Humbie Woods as well as plenty more. For the more adventurous the Lammermuir Hills are very close by to get some hill walks in! For the whisky lovers the well known Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery is only a five minute drive away or a 45 minute leisurely country walk...

    This is a quiet residential neighbourhood, in easy walking distance from Haddington town centre where there are shops, pubs and a selection of restaurants.

Noen få minutters gange fra Hannahs sted er en gammel jernbanelinje med en 1 kilometer spasertur til Haddington sentrum. Et bussholdeplass til Edinburgh er også veldig nært.

    The house is quietly situated, yet less than 10 mins walk to the historic town centre. Just 5 minutes walk away is the bus stop where the X7 will whisk you to the centre of Edinburgh in just 35 minutes. Haddington is an historic market town with independent shops and plenty of places to eat. Riverside walks along the banks of the Tyne start a few minutes from the house. Castles, golf courses, nature reserves and the seaside towns of Dunbar and North Berwick are easily accessible.
    I offer a light self service breakfast to be taken in the flower filled conservatory. Guests are welcome to make tea or coffee at other times in the day or evening. Guests can relax in the conservatory with views of the pretty garden. The shared bathroom has a shower and a toilet (no bath) There is free offstreet parking on requestand plenty of nearby on street parking.
    There is a lovely walk into town along the banks of the River Tyne which is 4 minutes walk from the house.

    This picture perfect 2 bedroom cottage boasts some of the best sea water front views this coastline has to offer. Fully equipped kitchen and dining area with amazing views.     The spacious open plan living room is the perfect place to curl up and relax in front of the stove whilst reading a book with a glass of wine or simply watching the TV. The living room then leads out to a slightly smaller lounge, with views to the courtyard garden with an additional TV and sofa. On from here is a small sun room which leads onto the sheltered courtyard patio. It is impossible to not feel chilled and relaxed in this cosy little cottage. Create home-like meals in the open kitchen area with an oven and hob, fridge and cooking utensils with a dining table that seats four located at the end of the kitchen. Perfect for a family dinner and a get together meal with friends.
    Aberlady is a pretty village on the East Lothian coast offering a pub and restaurants all in easy walking distance from the cottage. It lies on the coastal road from Edinburgh as it winds its way along the picturesque East Lothian coast. In prime golf country, Aberlady boasts the excellent Kilspindie links course, while a landscape of fairways and greens stretches east to Gullane and beyond. The shore here is a nationally important refuge for thousands of geese in the autumn. They are an incredible spectacle as they fly in to roost on the mudflats. Marshes, beach and the rocky coast of the Firth of Forth under a big sky makes for an impressive setting.

    A cosy cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from Gifford. The location is at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and with lots of great picturesque walks along the foothill paths & tracks. A great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as the technically challenging route for cycling. The cottage has WiFi internet access throughout. Sitting room: Cosy up in the ground floor sitting room, there are two 3 seater sofas, Smart TV and wood burning stove. Kitchen: Well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine with milk frother. Conservatory: A bright conservatory on the ground floor, just off the sitting room, with patio doors leading to the front garden Front hall: On the ground floor and accessed from the front garden.   • Bo på TRUDIs sted var fantastisk. flott hus, ryddig og vi ble overrasket av fasilitetene / tilbehøret som var klar til bruk. Tatt i betraktning at vi dro med barna, ble vi overrasket over å se mange leker !! Vi likte grundig og heldigvis været var fantastisk og var kirsebær på toppen. Det du ser på bildene var nøyaktig det samme som du ville se live ... Møbler var etniske, senger var rene og ryddige, stuen var plettfrie og så videre ... Dessverre kunne vi ikke møte Trudi for å takke henne personlig, men vi fikk en sjanse til å møte Eric da vi lette etter hytta vår .. Takk til ditt (Trudi) team som ga oss en flott ferieopplevelse ... The hot water and radiators are all electric; thanks to the solar panels on-site, this ensures minimal environmental impact, while also providing easy to operate and highly responsive heating. There is a dryer function on the washing machine, but also an outdoor whirligig, so ideal if you're a cyclist or walker and caught in the rain!     Wee Windy sits within the grounds of our family home. It is an ideal retreat for couples but sleeps up to 4 people. It is situated just 15 minutes walk from North Berwick train station, 20 minutes from the high street and beach, and is a 35 minute train journey from Edinburgh's city centre. It has an airy but cosy feel, with lots of natural light, and is decorated in a coastal theme. It also has a private entrance - but shared gate entrance - which allows guests to come and go at any time.
    Wee Windy comprises an open plan living room and kitchen, one bedroom, and a shower room. The living room and kitchen area is bright, comfortable, and great for socialising. There is a sofa which converts to a bed on request (with an extra person charge of £10 per person per night). There is also a large wall mounted smart television with Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer services to name a few. The kitchen is well equipped if you choose to cook and has a breakfast bar, oven and built-in microwave, Induction hob, dishwasher, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests also have access to a washing machine and drying area in the adjoining laundry room. The bedroom is minimalist and cosy, with excellent wardrobe space, and has a super king size bed (which can be unzipped and converted into two singles if you give us advance notice). The shower room contains a walk-in digital shower and has underfloor heating, as well as a heated towel rail.
    North Berwick is a stunning seaside town and was voted the best place to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times in 2017. The gorgeous coastline, thriving community, and incredible seafood are just a few reasons why! It is an excellent place to visit if you are active and outdoorsy, with two beautiful beaches, wildlife-rich waters, the Scottish Seabird Centre, and the statuesque North Berwick Law overlooking the town and islands. Sailors, animal lovers, bird watchers, and hikers will be in their element. If you are a keen golfer, you will already know that there is an abundance of golf courses in the surrounding areas. Our local courses, the North Berwick Golf Club and Glen Golf Club, are both a 5 minute drive away from Wee Windy, as are the public putting greens and tennis courts. The High Street is quaint and home to a mix of artisan, independent shops, cafes, coffee houses, and restaurants, where every taste and budget are catered for. There genuinely is something for everyone. Netherlaw is a quiet, leafy street in a residential area set back from the town centre. The North Berwick sports centre is a 5 minute walk along the road from Wee Windy and boasts a great range of exercise classes as well as a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, and a cafe. We are also close to North Berwick Law which you can climb to see stunning views out to the islands Fidra, Lamb, Craigleith, Bass Rock, and May.

    The Coach House is located a short distance from the idyllic East Lothian village of Humbie, nestled in the foothills of the Lammermuir Hills yet only 18 miles from the centre of Edinburgh. Situated on a small working sheep farm it is both a tranquil and accessible location which is also near to the Scottish Borders and the seaside coast and golf courses of East Lothian. It is ideal for a touring, golfing, fishing, walking or general sightseeing holiday.
    The accommodation comprises a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area, bathroom and utility room on the ground floor where there is ample storage and drying areas. The first floor has 2 bedrooms and living room served by relatively steep stairs with handrail. The main bedroom has an ensuite W.C and basin. There are seating areas around the cottage for relaxation outside. We do welcome guests with dogs but understandably only if well controlled as it is a working sheep farm.
    Only a short walk from The Coach House is Humbie village where guests can make use of the Humbie Hub for lunch and refreshments, shopping essentials and Post Office facilties.

    The Bothy is a recently refurbished traditional farm cottage with a red pantile roof that dates back to the early 1800s. It sits within the grounds of our family home and is only a stone’s throw from Drem train station, which provides regular services to North Berwick and Edinburgh. Retaining some of its original features, The Bothy is an ideal retreat for couples, families and golfers alike.
    The Bothy has its own private entrance leading into an open plan living room with kitchenette and a log burner stove. There is a wall-mounted smart TV with Netflix, YouTube and BBC iPlayer. Should you wish to cook, the kitchen is equipped with a mini oven, 2 induction hobs, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. Tea and coffee plus basic condiments are all provided. Guests have access to an iron and hair dryer. The spacious bathroom is fully modernised but also maintains some of its rustic charm. It is located downstairs and contains a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Downstairs there is also a large wardrobe with a hanging rail and room to store cases. The upper floor has 2 carpeted, loft-style bedrooms with coombed ceilings that are cozy and bright. Bedroom 1 has a king-sized platform bed and the second bedroom has 2 single beds. Both have underbed storage and other drawers/storage compartments and high quality Egyptian cotton bedding. The carpets & bedding are hypoallergenic.
    Drem is a beautiful ‘hamlet’ within a conservation area, only a few miles from the Golf Coast and the nearby towns of Gullane & North Berwick. The Bothy is located next to the Village Green where you can relax or play outside and there are some lovely country walks in and around the area. There is free on-street parking around the Village Green.

    Our peaceful cottage is located at the bottom of our garden, reached by a private lane less than 200 yards from the centre of Haddington. Haddington is a historic market town 20 miles east of Edinburgh and has good public transport to the city. Located in East Lothian and 20 minutes drive to the many beaches and golf courses. There are several restaurants, pubs and coffee shops within an easy stroll. The cottage is self-contained with private parking in a relaxed, quiet setting.
    Quiet location but near town centre and all amenities very close by. Park, Sports Centre, tennis courts all within a few hundred yards. Lovely river walk and historic St Mary's church to explore. Our accommodation provides a large bright upstairs studio room overlooking the garden. We have a king-sized bed and a double-sized bed settee in this space. Downstairs, we have the shower room and kitchen with access to garden. It can be cosy in the colder months and fresh and airy for Spring and Summer. Our price per night is based on two adults with an extra small charge for any guests over that number. This does not apply to children under 12 years of age and so when you book via Airbnb, please just book for two adults and there will be no extra charge. You can advise me independently so we can cater for the children as appropriate. Many thanks.

    A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from Gifford. The location is at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great picturesque walks along the foothill paths & tracks. A great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as the technically challenging route for cycling. Sitting room: Cosy up in the ground floor sitting room, there are two 3 seater sofas, Smart TV and wood burning stove. Kitchen: Well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine with milk frother. Conservatory: A ground floor, bright conservatory with 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs, just off the sitting room, with patio doors leading to the front garden Front hall: On the ground floor and accessed from the front garden. The front hall has a heated cupboard for coats, boots, shoes and everything outdoors Dining area: This area forms a spacious hall area at the centre of the ground floor of the cottage and has a large dining table which can be extended to seat 8. Laundry room: On the ground floor providing a dedicated space for washing machine and tumble drier Bedroom 1: On the ground floor with a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind and the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct This bedroom has an en suite bathroom (bath, shower over bath, wash basin, heated towel rail & WC) and a window with views over the front garden. There are USB charging sockets at both sides of the bed. Bedroom 2: This bedroom is on the first floor and can be prepared with either a super-king double bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind and the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a smart TV with USB socket in the bedroom. It is on the 1st floor with large velux windows giving views over the countryside and with integrated black out blinds for night-time. There are USB charging sockets at both sides of the bed. 2nd Bathroom: Beside the 2nd bedroom on the first floor with window over the rear garden and with bath, shower over bath, wash basin, WC & heated towel rail Landing: On the first floor with a desk for a dedicated work area. Garden: A large lawned garden to the front and a rear lawn with clothes drying line. Parking: There is plenty of space for parking cars and vans.
    If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. The nearest village of Garvald (1 mile) has a pub serving food, the nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs serving food are 3 miles away in Gifford.

    The Little House on the Hill is a bijou part of this gorgeous stone-built house on a farm. It is the right hand wing of the house in the picture. A perfect place for chilling out, being outdoors, accessing Edinburgh, and moseying around Border towns. Cosy & modern, lovely open plan kitchen & lounge. The larger house next door is also available.
    Little House on the Hill is available for 2-4 guests on a self catering basis. The cottage forms part of Hillhouse farm in the Scottish Borders which is also home to a few thousand sheep. The Sutherland family have farmed here for over 80 years across 3 generations. It's a fantastic place - sitting high on the hills overlooking Lauderdale it really does have tremendous views. The Little House on the Hill is an old shepherd's house but it's been refurbished recently so now you'll find it to be modern & cosy. It has a lovely open plan kitchen / living room, two good sized bedrooms and a small shower room. The house next door, the House on the Hill, is also available - it has virtually the same facilities as the Little House on the Hill but is much larger with an extra bathroom and separate kitchen and lounge. There are interconnecting doors between the two houses which we unlock if both properties are being rented by one party. The House on the Hill can, of course, also be rented completely separately.
    Staying on a working sheep farm in the Lauderdale area is a 'best of all worlds' location: it's the perfect place for chilling out, being outdoors, accessing Edinburgh (including the Festival), and moseying around historic Border towns. There is so much to do, you just have to work out how much you want to pack in!

    The Wee Studio is a pretty cottage set within the walled garden of our home which is less than 10-minutes walking distance from North Berwick's beautiful beaches, vibrant High St and train station (Edinburgh 33min). The Wee Studio is light, airy and all on one level. It is comprised of a studio bedroom/living room, separate bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The Wee Studio is in a quiet and private location with off-street parking and its own patio area - you are welcome to share our garden.
    The Wee Studio is set in a quiet corner at the bottom of our walled garden which is accessed through a shared gate from the driveway. There is parking available for one car on the driveway. There is a patio area with table and chairs adjacent to a shallow pond on the approach to the cottage. The inside is comprised of an open-plan living and sleeping area with a fresh and homely feel. The living space is furnished with a dining table and chairs to seat 4, a sofa and TV/DVD player (freeview), plus Wi-Fi and a selection of family DVDs. There is a standard double and a single bed suitable for 2 adults or 2 adults and a child and plenty of wardrobe space and spare linen. A high chair and cot are available on request. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob in addition to a microwave oven, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge with small freezer compartment. The bathroom is a good size and has an over-the-bath shower. The Wee Studio has it's own central heating which may be adjusted for your comfort. Extra space is available in the garage or secure shed for bikes/golf clubs, watersports equipment etc.
    North Berwick is a charming and friendly harbour town with 2 beautiful beaches ideal for families and water sports. It has a varied and vibrant High Street well served by great cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and a range of boutique shops. Favorite attractions in North Berwick include, a 'stomp' up to the top of our local hill (North Berwick Law) to enjoy the magnificent views; a boat trip to see the famous Bass Rock and other island bird colonies; and a visit to Tantallon and Dirleton Castles, both in magnificent settings. For younger families The Lodge offers a popular playground and our local swimming pool is only 2 minutes away.
