The Woodland Cabin is set on the edge of a forest near the beautiful small village of Abbey St Bathans, just 1 hour south of Edinburgh. Come and relax in the woods with a book or grab your hiking boots or bikes and explore the surrounding countryside. If you're feeling brave pack your swimming stuff for wild swimming in the Whitadder river. We're a 20 minute drive from the coast which has stunning cliff top walks and beautiful little bays and fishing villages.
The cabin has a large sitting/dining room with a wood burning stove which is very easy to light and quickly warms up the whole place. A lot of the internal wood like the floor, shelves and fittings are from trees from my father's forests which are processed in our sawmill which is 3 minutes down the road. The kitchen is stocked with oil, salt, pepper, milk, sugar, tea, coffee etc. We can provide a simple breakfast on request of Muesli with dried fruit (from my mum's garden), home made bread with jam, butter, cheese etc for £5/per person. If it's the right time of year/available you'll be able to purchase fresh veg from my mum’s garden and local venison/pheasant/trout/eggs. The nearest supermarket is 7 miles away so please come with food if you're wanting to cook. There is also a BBQ set up outside. If you have a car there are plenty of pubs and restaurants in Duns and Berwick. We will be doing short term lets through the autumn/winter, so get in touch if you would like to stay for longer.   • Dette er et perfekt lite "tilfluktssted", vekk fra all livets støy og rot. Veldig gjennomtenkte berøringer i hytta og flotte plasser å sitte, vi elsket spesielt å sitte utendørs med en peis i ovnen. Det er veldig komfortabelt og velutstyrt, og det er så mye vakkert landskap å utforske i området.

    Self- contained 1-bed flat in the heart of rural East Lothian. The flat is part of our family home, but has its own front door. Kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher. Bedroom with double bed and plenty of cupboard space. En-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Living room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors onto small decking area leading to rear garden. Also access to sitting area in front garden. The flat has some adaptations suitable for the disabled.
    The flat is a recently built extension to our 19th century farm cottage - appropriately enough, surrounded by farmland. We have a couple of cats who roam the garden and will probably join you if you leave a door open!
    Our house is in the small hamlet of Glenkinchie, in the heart of East Lothian farming country. We are just a few yards up the hill from the Glenkinchie Distillery, East Lothian’s premier tourist attraction. We’re a few miles away from glorious beaches, golf courses galore, (including Muirfield and Gullane) and charming market towns. Head south and you can be up in the Lammermuir hills in 20 minutes or so. We’ve lived here for over 20 years and both work in Edinburgh, so can help out with local information, walks, restaurants, and so on.

    A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from the village of Gifford (supermarket in this village). The location is on a farm at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great nearby walks along the picturesque beaches, foothill paths & tracks. It's also a great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as part of the cycling route! The cottage offers a truly relaxing stay in the quiet of the countryside although it is also only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh and the local villages and towns are of course nearer. The cottage is very well equipped, details of facilities are below as well as under amenities. If you are unsure about whether something is provided or would just like to check something in particular please feel free to message me. The open plan sitting and dining room: A cosy, country sitting room on the ground floor with feature stone wall, wood burning stove, Smart TV and dining for 4 The Kitchen: Well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor with wooden worktops for a country feel yet all the comforts of home with a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers and integrated appliances: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher. The Bedroom on the ground floor: This bedroom has a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. Deep pile sheepskin rugs either side of the bed add another sense of luxury. Other features include USB sockets both sides of the bed, wall mounted brass clothes hanging brackets, wall mounted smart TV, full length mirror and views out the front. The Bedroom upstairs: This bedroom can be prepared with either a super king size bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a TV, chest of drawers, bedside tables, hanging space, mirrored dressing table area, USB sockets both sides of the bed, large velux windows with integrated black out blinds for a long, deep sleep and stunning views over the open countryside when you awake. The Bathroom: Spacious, luxurious bathroom with large double-ended bath, big enough for 2 and a fixed overhead shower. Wash hand basin and WC. Wicker-chat chair with soft sheepskin rug. Large velux window with stunning views over the countryside. Perfect space to relax and unwind with unlimited hot water, just add bubbles. The Downstairs Toilet: Toilet and washbasin on the ground floor just beside the back door. Complete with coat hooks above the radiator to dry out wet outdoor clothes. The Gardens and parking: There is an enclosed garden opposite the front door with parking spaces for 2 cars and a rear garden accessed from the back door.
    If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. Bring the dogs and enjoy your break. The local village of Garvald offers a great little pub (also dog friendly) with good calibre meals prepared by the hosts Peter and Elaine. Nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs are 3 miles away in Gifford though.

    An ideal spot for couples,solo adventurers,business travellers, families and furry friends. The cottage is situated in acres of stunning countryside with a stream running through the garden. It is equipped with a super king sized bed and extra sofa bed. Come and enjoy the countryside with the wildlife on your doorstep as well as the huge range of activities available nearby. Relax and unwind in front of the open fire.For the sightseers its only a 30 minute drive into the centre of Edinburgh!
    An easy spot to unwind but also a great base for walking, golfing, cycling, sightseeing in Edinburgh and the Borders, fishing and is close to the East Lothian beaches. The property is part of an old small holding farm which kept sheep up until recently. The cottage is next door to the main Keith Bridge House, a small 2 bedroom property where the tenants Jemima and Tim live and will welcome you and be available to help if there is anything that you need. Both properties date back to the 1850s with the cottage undergoing a recent renovation. Well known ornithologist George Waterston lived here for a number of years documenting the abundance of bird life found around the property. The stream has fish running through with herons, geese and ducks often patrolling up and down. Otters have been spotted but that is only if you are very lucky! We are pet friendly and have a large garden for dogs to safely run around in.
    The small village of Humbie is just over a mile up the road. There is a lovely cafe and general store called ‘The Humbie Hub’. The stunning Humbie church is just a short walk from the house as well as a busy Humbie village hall that often has events on in the village including film nights and coffee mornings. Just up the road the ‘Juniperlee’ is a well renowned eatery with good food. The quaint village of Gifford is around a 15 minute drive away where you can find two good pubs, the Goblin Ha and the Tyneside Tavern. For the golfers there is also the Gifford and Castle Park golf courses nearby as well as the many well renowned East Lothian courses. There are some lovely cycle routes around the quieter back roads of East Lothian that are easily accessed from the cottage. Closer to home enjoy lovely country walks around the Keith Marishal loop and Humbie Woods as well as plenty more. For the more adventurous the Lammermuir Hills are very close by to get some hill walks in! For the whisky lovers the well known Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery is only a five minute drive away or a 45 minute leisurely country walk...

You will have exclusive use of the lounge during your stay and there will be a camp bed with bedding for your use. You will also have shared access to the bathroom and the kitchen. Often I will be working on shift, so won't necessarily be around...etc. I will have exclusive use of the bedroom. Musselburgh is a quiet and pleasant small commuter town to the east of Edinburgh.
    Musselburgh is a lovely and quiet place to walk around. This includes a number of walks beside the country, the town and the Forth. There is a Tesco superstore which is open until midnight. There are a number of other shops which are generally open until 10pm. All alcohol must be bought by then.

    The cottage is ideal accommodation for walkers and surfers, or those that just want to escape to the country. Twenty five minutes from Edinburgh, It features a private garden and is within walking distance to John Muir Country Park and Belhaven beach. Dunbar town and East Linton are both short distances away.

The apartment with a private entrance, sits on the side of a family home. Recently refurbished with a kitchen / living / bedroom and a comfortable cast-iron double bed. The shower-room / w.c. is fitted with a modern powerful shower. The shabby chic decor has a gentle seaside theme to reflect the feel of North Berwick.
    The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a 125 year-old stone building in a quiet street just three minutes walk from the railway station and six minutes from the town centre and beach. It sits on the side of a family home but has its own entrance. The location is ideal for all local amenities, including shops, bars, restaurants, golf courses and the world-famous Seabird Centre. A frequent train service provides easy access to the heart of Edinburgh with a relaxed journey through the East Lothian countryside taking approximately 30 minutes. The studio has recently been refurbished and contains a large kitchen / living / bedroom area with an IKEA king-size bed. The renovation is modern but adopts a gentle seaside, shabby-chic theme to reflect the general feel of North Berwick. A small hall and light shower room / w.c. complete the accommodation. The kitchen area is well equipped with a ceramic hob and electric oven, a microwave, toaster and dishwasher. TV, DVD and unlimited free WiFi are included. Ample hanging space is provided along with a washing machine in the hall cupboard. Old Abbey Road is a quiet street. Like the town of North Berwick, it is steeped in history with the apartment sitting opposite the ruins of North Berwick Priory which was established 800 years ago. Guests are also welcome to visit our chickens in the family garden and can look forward to fresh eggs for breakfast (so long as the 'girls' are in the mood). Finally, please note the studio is strictly non-smoking and we require at least one the guests to be 25 or over.
    The neighbourhood consists of a quiet residential area with a wide range of interesting houses, not to mention a 12th Century Abbey opposite the apartment. The lively and prosperous North Berwick High Street is a five minute walk away.

    Our charming, one-bedroomed apartment, in the conservation village of Aberlady offers accommodation for 2. Complete with wood-burning stove, all mod cons, easy access to over 20 golf courses, nature reserves and Edinburgh, you will be spoilt for things to do.
    The Leveret is a ground floor, Victorian one-bedroomed apartment in the heart of Aberlady. It is furnished to a high standard with a new kitchen and appliances, central heating system, shower, wood burning stove. The bedroom sleeps 2 in a double bed. Freshly laundered, cotton sheets, and bedding are supplied. There is a separate well-appointed kitchen with an oven, hob, fridge with freezer box, microwave and washer dryer (in cupboard). The sitting/dining room has a two seater sofa, two chairs, a fold out dining table seating four, an LCD digital TV, wifi and a wood-burning stove. Logs are available to purchase in the Gosford Bothy 1 mile away. The shower room offers a new shower, heated towel rail, hair dryer and shaver point. Fluffy, white towels are provided for all guests. The Leveret is accessed through a shared vennel (wide passage way) at the side of the house. Please note the garden behind is private and guests at the Leveret will not have garden access. No dogs allowed.
    Aberlady is a picturesque, conservation village on the East Lothian coast with a quaint high street and sea views over Aberlady Bay, across the Firth of Forth to the hills of Fife. The local Indian restaurant provides delicious food and a very warm welcome. A more traditional, Scottish meal can be found in the Old Aberlady Inn which also offers guest ales, a roaring fire in winter, and a sunny beer garden in summer. Other amenities include a post office, well-stocked village shop and Ducks at Kilspindie House - a bar, hotel and restaurant. We also recommend that you visit the Bothy on the outskirts of the village where you will find a farm shop with local produce, an award-winning butchers and a cafe. Aberlady has two golf courses, Kilspindie and Craigielaw, the latter having a golf shop and bar/restaurant. It is part of Scotland's golf coast which boasts 22 golf courses from Musselburgh to Dunbar, catering for all levels of golfer.

    This idyllic cottage is set in a sheltered wooded spot close to a picturesque beach. Access to this seaside retreat is by steep steps and a footbridge across a small river. The magical spot is ideal for those wishing to escape the rigours of city life and spend a few days surrounded by nature, experiencing bygone times. The sounds are birdsong and the chords of nature, the seashore nearby and the varied wildlife, all bathed in the constantly changing Scottish light.
    The cottage was built around the early 1700's and has recently been sensitively renovated internally, still retaining its old world, rustic charm. Although cosy and heated by two wood burning stoves with a gas powered cooker and hot water for the bath, there is no electricity in the cottage. Lighting is by candles (supplied) and solar lights (supplied), which whilst creating a beautiful ambiance, means there is also no tv, no electric points, no fridge or electrical kitchen gadgets or washing machine. The cottage is well stocked with the comforts and limitations of a bygone age and should be enjoyed as a complete digital detox, embracing the whole experience of escaping complex modern life for a few restful days.
    This is a historic place, close to the old Dunglass Estate and adjacent to the old Edinburgh to London Road where James VI of Scotland crossed the nearby bridge on his journey south to become James I of England and Ireland with the Union of the Crown in 1603. There is the ruin of an ancient Collegiate church destroyed in the Reformation in the nearby Estate, and the area has connections with Scottish Art as the nearby town of Cockburnspath was the base of the Glasgow Boys in the late 1880's. Additionally the smuggler's haunt of Cove is a few miles along the coast to the south.

    The Maltings, Haddington is a converted mill building next to the river Tyne in beautiful East Lothian. My flat is on the ground floor so it is good for wheelchair access. There is a designated parking space in the car park. Haddington has some great shops, bars and restaurants. Edingburgh is 30 minutes by car, 45 minutes away by bus, or there is a train station at Drem close by. East lothian is great for cycling, walking or immersing yourself in our many varied ancient monuments & castles.
    Guests have access to the kitchen, lounge diner and their own private bathroom
    Haddington is an ancient market town. It has some terrific cycle routes with excellent coffee and cake stops along the routes.

    Wee Windy sits within the grounds of our family home. It is an ideal retreat for couples but sleeps up to 4 people. It is situated just 15 minutes walk from North Berwick train station, 20 minutes from the high street and beach, and is a 35 minute train journey from Edinburgh's city centre. It has an airy but cosy feel, with lots of natural light, and is decorated in a coastal theme. It also has a private entrance - but shared gate entrance - which allows guests to come and go at any time.
    Wee Windy comprises an open plan living room and kitchen, one bedroom, and a shower room. The living room and kitchen area is bright, comfortable, and great for socialising. There is a sofa which converts to a bed on request (with an extra person charge of £10 per person per night). There is also a large wall mounted smart television with Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer services to name a few. The kitchen is well equipped if you choose to cook and has a breakfast bar, oven and built-in microwave, Induction hob, dishwasher, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests also have access to a washing machine and drying area in the adjoining laundry room. The bedroom is minimalist and cosy, with excellent wardrobe space, and has a super king size bed (which can be unzipped and converted into two singles if you give us advance notice). The shower room contains a walk-in digital shower and has underfloor heating, as well as a heated towel rail.
    North Berwick is a stunning seaside town and was voted the best place to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times in 2017. The gorgeous coastline, thriving community, and incredible seafood are just a few reasons why! It is an excellent place to visit if you are active and outdoorsy, with two beautiful beaches, wildlife-rich waters, the Scottish Seabird Centre, and the statuesque North Berwick Law overlooking the town and islands. Sailors, animal lovers, bird watchers, and hikers will be in their element. If you are a keen golfer, you will already know that there is an abundance of golf courses in the surrounding areas. Our local courses, the North Berwick Golf Club and Glen Golf Club, are both a 5 minute drive away from Wee Windy, as are the public putting greens and tennis courts. The High Street is quaint and home to a mix of artisan, independent shops, cafes, coffee houses, and restaurants, where every taste and budget are catered for. There genuinely is something for everyone. Netherlaw is a quiet, leafy street in a residential area set back from the town centre. The North Berwick sports centre is a 5 minute walk along the road from Wee Windy and boasts a great range of exercise classes as well as a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, and a cafe. We are also close to North Berwick Law which you can climb to see stunning views out to the islands Fidra, Lamb, Craigleith, Bass Rock, and May.

Stuen og dobbeltseng soverommet hadde flott utsikt over havet. Togstasjonen ligger innen 10 minutter gange og en 35 min tur til Edinburgh, men vær oppmerksom på at vi måtte tog avbryte vår tur / retur til North Berwick, så planlegg deretter.

An ideal retreat for a single person or couple who enjoy rural living. The Little Blue House is situated on a smallholding with sheep, hens and geese grazing outside your window.
    The living space includes an equipped modern kitchen (with induction hob, oven, microwave and fridge-freezer), a large table, a corner sofabed, a chest of drawers, a wood-burning stove, a separate toilet and shower room and a mezzanine level sleeping area accessed via a foldaway wooden ladder (see photo) with a kingsize bed. We will provide bedding, bed linen and towels. You will be entirely self-catering during your stay although we do provide you with some basics like tea and coffee and some essential cooking condiments (salt, pepper, olive oil, cider vinegar). We will also make sure you have some milk, eggs and bread for your arrival and first breakfast. We can provide you with eggs, fruit and vegetables from the garden when they are available
    Our house (St Baldreds) is situated in the midst of beautiful East Lothian countryside. It lies just north of Tyninghame village and is within a short distance of Tyninghame beach (1 mile) which overlooks the Bass Rock, with its spectacular gannet colony from April to September, and adjoins John Muir Country Park. The area is very popular with walkers, birders, surfers and golfers. East Lothian offers visitors over 40 miles of stunning coastline with golden beaches , the John Muir Country Park and John Muir Way long distance footpath, several award-winning attractions like the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick and the world’s finest links golf courses.     Guests have the whole flat, which is on the top (2nd) floor. Access is via an internal traditional tenement staircase. The building dates back to 1880's with stunning open views to the front and rear. Sorry, no pets allowed.
    Gullane is a well-kept village surrounded by golf courses and beautiful coastal walks. The award-winning stunning beach, which is backed by large sand dunes, located a short 10 minute walk from the flat. Gullane is the home of Muirfield which has hosted The Open Championship on numerous occasions. In addition to Muirfield, Gullane is the site of several other high-quality golf courses in the village and surrounding area. Guests will be spoilt for choice with wonderful restaurants all within walking distance. Chez Roux at Muirfield , La Potiniere, The Main Course and with the newly opened Tom Kitchin's Bonnie Badger just next door. Be sure to book in advance as these restaurants are very popular with locals and holiday makers.

    Our Cottage is a single story bungalow with steps to access front and rear of the property. It has two well-lit bedrooms; one fitted with a king size bed and the other a single bed, with an option for a second single bed if required. There is a log burner centrepiece in the large lounge alongside a fully stocked log store, with the addition of some blankets, to ensure you’re kept feeling sufficiently snug on those chilly nights when the stars shine bright. The Sun Room has a comfortable sofa for you to cosy up and take in the stunning uninterrupted views and there is a dining room table set up, so you can take in the beautiful surroundings while you relax with a tipple of your choice. This room provides direct access to decking where there is a table and set of chairs for al fresco dinning as you take in the stunning views across the open fields. Once the sun sets there is a bench so you can star-gaze to your heart’s content. There is also a large side garden for you to relax in, should you feel like watching the birds up close. The bathroom has a bath and Mira shower, with toiletries and large Egyptian cotton towels. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle and dishwasher, with an array of crockery and utensils to help you cook up a storm, alternatively there are good restaurants and pubs near the cottage, one within a 5-minute walk. Torches are provided as there is no street lighting and minimal light pollution from surrounding areas. The driveway has ample room for three cars.     Very quiet and peaceful place. Noise is minimal at night. Within a 5 minute walk of both an Asda supermarket and a pub/restaurant. On a clear day both Bass Rock and North Berwick Law can be viewed from the Cottage, with the latter providing a great walk rewarded with wonderful views west to Edinburgh, where on a clear day you can see Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle, as well as great views of the coast once at the top. The location is at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and with lots of great picturesque walks along the foothill paths & tracks. A great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as the technically challenging route for cycling. The cottage has WiFi internet access throughout. Sitting room: Cosy up in the ground floor sitting room, there are two 3 seater sofas, Smart TV and wood burning stove.     If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. The nearest village of Garvald (1 mile) has a pub serving food, the nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs serving food are 3 miles away in Gifford.

Tatt i betraktning at vi dro med barna, ble vi overrasket over å se mange leker !! Vi likte grundig og heldigvis været var fantastisk og var kirsebær på toppen. Det du ser på bildene var nøyaktig det samme som du ville se live ... Møbler var etniske, senger var rene og ryddige, stuen var plettfrie og så videre ... Dessverre kunne vi ikke møte Trudi for å takke henne personlig, men vi fikk en sjanse til å møte Eric da vi lette etter hytta vår .. Takk til ditt (Trudi) team som ga oss en flott ferieopplevelse ...
