Enjoy sweeping ocean views from the spacious lanai or relax after a hard day at the beach in one of the bathtubs with views. Spacious 2,140 sqft unit accommodates up to 10 guests: 3 regular double beds, 1 sleeper sofa and up to 2 airbeds.

This vacation home is very new on the market, so enjoy the benefits of being one of the first guests!

The spacious 2,140 sqft (199 sqm) upper unit of the 2 story house can be yours. The downstairs unit is usually occupied by the owner.
The living area opens up to the lanai (addtl. 700 sqft - 65 sqm), which most people on Hawaii use like a regular room - in this case with great views and well ventilated.

It almost feels like two homes in one, because the two master bedroom suites with their own bathrooms are located on the opposite sides of the home.

Two TV sets feature 300+ channels, or log in to your Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime or others as main "screen entertainment sources".
Use the Nexus 7 tablet in the unit or bring your own, WLAN is pretty solid and fast (that's not a given on other parts of the island).

Enjoy your daily smoothie and coffee using the high quality blender and coffee machine.

I have a 6 year old daughter and I´m happy to let you use most of her stuff if you bring your kid(s): play kitchen, bike, scooter, high chair, stools to reach the sinks, etc. Basically all the stuff you don´t really want to bring on a plane!
Let´s talk before you get here, I can also leave the beach wagon for you (as you may know, taking the kids to the beach is like moving an army, so this wagon is worth it´s weight in gold!).

FAQ´s:

Q: How far is the closest beach?
A: Closest Beach is "Pine Trees", about 10-15min by car. It´s great for surfing and sunset dining on the beach, not so much for swimming though. For swimming, that would be "Kua Bay", 15-20min drive from the house. Pristine turquoise water makes it a favorite for locals and guests!

Q: How far is it to town / grocery shopping / restaurants / airport?
A: Drive to town is 15-20min. There´s Costco close by (10min) and you´ll find stores like Target, Safeway, Walmart and specialty stores right in town. There´s also a store called "Island Naturals", carrying mostly organic food. You´ll find plenty of restaurants in town for every taste. For some first recommendations check out the "Guidebook" on this site. Also I have a long list with recommendations on the tablet computer in the house and obviously I´m always there to point out something nice for you in person once you get here.
My guests keep telling me how much they appreciated the location of the house (check their reviews, it is mentioned over and over again). It´s close to town as well as to the nicest beaches of the island a bit more up north.
Drive to the airport is just 10min and you can see planes coming in and going out from the lanai - without any noise impact.

Q: How many guests does this unit accommodate?
A: Short answer: up to 10. Long answer: 10 is kind of pushing it. There are 3 bedrooms, each featuring a double bed (2 bedrooms have a queen and one has a king). Then there´s a sleeper sofa in the living area for 2 more guests. Finally, if you really wanted that, I can provide you with an additional airbed (maybe for the kids?). Please keep in mind though that the dining table on the lanai can accommodate 8 persons max. But if you´re happy with eating in shifts or only need a place to sleep anyway - fine with me.
From experience with previous groups I´d say that up to 8 is easy and everyone still has some privacy.

Q: What is there to do? What kind of attractions are there on the Big Island / in Kona?
A: Honestly, there´s so much great stuff that this question is hard to answer. It all depends what your needs and desires are, and chances are high that you´ll find a matching activity here. From world-class snorkeling and scuba diving to surfing, lazy beach days or challenging hikes, whale watching trips or helicopter tours to the volcano, swimming with dolphins or driving up to the observatories, discovering yummy local take-out specialties to 5 star restaurants, there´s an abundance of great stuff to experience. Just do a quick research on the internet and you´ll see.

* 2 master bedroom suites with ocean views, queen-size bed, in-room bathtubs and bathroom and walk-in closet
* 1 "office bedroom" (no windows, own bathroom across the hall)
* kitchen (gas stove, dish washer, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, microwave and blender)
* laundry room with washer and dryer
* open living area with couch and sleeper sofa and of course the lanai (Hawaiian for deck) with great ocean views - and especially beautiful sunsets.

I´ll also provide you with beach towels, cooler, boogie boards and snorkel gear. Have fun!

Marcus was an amazing host, and the house was fantastic. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children, and the amenities were absolutely perfect. It was so great that Marcus had boogie boards and snorkel gear to borrow, including life jackets for the kids. The house is very nearby some excellent beaches, and close to the airport. I highly recommend this vacation rental!

Marcus's home is wonderful, very open, with a huge covered deck running the entire length of the upper level from the two large bedrooms on either end from which you have ocean views and sunsets. The house is in a quiet residential area about 5 miles from Kona, a mile up on the hills so you have a great overlook. Large comfortable living area and well appointed kitchen with a gas grill on the deck. Apple TV and a Bose music player if you are so inclined. Marcus has lots of beach chairs,umbrellas, snorkel gear and boogie boards for your use. That was handy as we did not have to rent them. Coolers too but we had our own soft ones. Did I mention the king size beds ? Very comfortable ! Bathrooms were large with great showers to wash off the salt from a day of wonderful beaching or hiking for that matter. The location makes it easy to head out to the western coast or the northern areas of the island and Kona is just a few miles away. All in all, we had a great time there and Marcus was a wonderful host. Go and enjoy ! Paul Patti Anne and Jim

Amazing place very spacious very clean! beautiful location to watch the sunset! Centrally located to the airport (although it doesn't sound like it), Beautiful beaches, coffee, shops, & places to eat! I would highly recommend!!!!

Marcus is a wonderful host...very responsive and kind. We loved being able to grill and enjoy the sunset while eating meals on the beautiful lanai. The beach chairs/toys/umbrellas were such an added bonus. Marcus goes the extra mile!

Marcus was a great host. He was very communicative and offered some good advice regarding places we can visit in Big Island. The place we stayed in was big enough for our group of 8 adults and 3 infants. Marcus even offered us an air bed which helped our group a lot. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone considering it.

I´m German and I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I own a small company which allows me to work from pretty much anywhere in the world (internet access provided) and to travel quite a bit.
I got my private pilot license here on the island and I love exploring the other islands with my small plane.
Also I enjoy the ocean, especially on my stand up paddle board. I'm in the process of learning how to catch some waves with it.
