Anne's place was exactly as pictured and better really... There's a heater inside if it gets too chilly and the river view out back is magnificent! We are photographers so we ended up sitting out back for an hour just watching the birds and taking photos! It's so nice to go back to a place that still shows off where you are in nature and not some basic hotel room where you can't enjoy where you are. I will definitely be staying here again and would 10/10 recommend!
This little place is a great alternative to trying to stay in Aspen. Close to Aspen without the high price. We usually stay in Aspen but being here gave us an opportunity to explore Basalt which is a really beautiful town, so picturesque & thanks Anne for the restaurant recommendations. You'll be close to Aspen, Basalt, Rio Grande trail, Maroon Bells.... Close to many hiking & biking trails. Anne's place is in a great neighborhood with the river in the back yard. Wouldn't worry too much about the traffic noise. I'm usually quite sensitive to that but if you're sitting by the rushing river it really diminishes the traffic. Our dog really enjoyed the chipmunks, squirrels & rabbits around the neighborhood. The place is small but perfectly adequate - we weren't around that much as there is so much to do in the area. Anne left out some nice snacks, water & loads of info! The one & only thing I would change? One of those small under cabinet refrigerators would be perfect! One word of advice - keep your dog on a leash when you go hiking - we had two wonderful black bears cross our path on a trail at Mount Sopris. It was awesome!
