A beautiful Grade II listed 2-bedroom cottage, in a charming Cotswolds area, steeped in history and character, with original windows, flagstone flooring, exposed stone walls, oak beams and a fireplace. All rooms have lovely little window seats.

Enjoy your own private orchard at the end of the garden, perfect for a BBQ or picnic. The Cottage also includes off-street parking.

We love the local walks, views and the quintessential little Cotswolds high street only minutes walk from the cottage.

Stedet
The cottage was built in the 1800s (as the date etched in the stone facade reveals) as one of a number of worker's cottages for the Cotswolds wool trade. It was built by David Ricardo, the then owner of nearby Gatcombe Park (now the residence of Princess Anne).

Set back from the main road, it is one of few cottages that benefits from private parking and a large garden. The Cottage is part of a terrace and therefore benefits from a strong community spirit.

On the ground floor you will find the living room which includes a dining space for four as well as a fully functioning kitchen. Stairs take you up to a good sized landing which includes a small settee and desk. The first floor also includes the double bedroom (which also has a desk to work at) as well as a charming bathroom with separate shower and free standing bath.

The main bedroom occupies the entire second floor and benefits from a king size bed. Lovely exposed beams give this room a real charm.

We want this cottage to feel like home and we have decorated it with some antiques in keeping with the Cotswolds charm but have also considered modern comforts.

We use professional holiday let cleaners who follow enhanced cleaning protocols.

Please note that the cottage, like many similar period cottages, has fairly steep stairs to the first and second floors (although there aren’t that many steps to take fortunately).

Nærområdet

Minchinhampton, England, Storbritannia

What’s nearby?
Minchinhampton provides some lovely local walks as well as a small number of great places to eat and drink, just up the road. Explore the many Cotswolds attractions a short drive away and also enjoy some of the less known Cotswolds charms right on the door step. This is a friendly town - a village to most people to be honest. Stay here to experience the real Cotswolds and the great community spirit this provides.

There are plenty of public footpaths nearby - with one just across the road providing great views and access to nature. Walk along the walled passage specifically built for the workers who used to live in this row of cottages which leads to some great views of the landscape. The popular Minchinhapton Common is also only minutes walk, where you find the lovely highland cows and horses grazing freely during half the year.

In Minchinhampton there is the award winning pub, "The Crown Inn", Henry’s cafe (for great coffee and fresh breads), The Kitchen (perfect for a local lunch) as well as the Chip Shed (for fish and chips take away). There is also a convenience store and pharmacy.

Dotted about on the beautiful Minchinhampton Common are also a number of cafes and pubs.

Others must see areas include:
- Tetbrury, which has some of the best antique stores and some lovely cafes and restaurants
- Painswick, including the popular Rococco Garden
- Stroud, including the farmers market and independent vibe (voted best place to live in 2021)
- Cirencester, good for eating out
- Bibury, among the most famous Cotswolds village, and from there on:
- Bourton on the Water
