Welcome to our Chalet! We have recently finished renovating the entire cabin with close attention to every detail that will make your stay restful and memorable. It is our second home and we want you to feel as comfortable as we do when you're here.

Stedet
The Chalet '74 is located in the Pinetop Lakes Country Club right next to the Equestrian Center and is close to all your favorite outdoor activities. Sunrise Ski Resort is about 30 minutes away and is open year round. Skiing, snowboarding and tubing in the winter, and hiking, mountain biking, scenic lift rides, zip lines and fishing in the summertime. There are several lakes nearby to swim or fish in and a few have boating/kayak/canoe rentals, plus there are tons of beautiful hikes (in all levels) to choose from in the area.

As of now there is not yet air conditioning, but there are plans for installation in the future. However, there are high end ceiling fans in every bedroom and in the living area, plus an additional 4-5 floor fans to place strategically where needed. In the summer I send guests detailed tips on staying cool and so far, most guests say they’ve been pretty comfortable without A/C. Usually by mid-July through August the monsoon season brings short rain storms almost every afternoon and cool it way down.

There is a level 2 charger outlet/RV outlet for electric vehicles. Bring your own Tesla or EV charging cord.

Gjestetilgang
You will have access to the entire chalet and the 3 wooded lots its located on.

!!Update Summer 2020: DUE TO COVID, THE REC CENTER IS CURRENTLY CLOSED!!!
*SHARED POOL, HOT TUB, GYM, PLAYGROUND, tennis courts, pool tables, pianos, gathering room, dvd/game rental, book exchange, media center, wifi and a bunch of other wonderful extras are located at the Pinetop Lakes Association Recreation Center located only a minute away, 6050 Wild Rose Trail

Please note that there is a $75 weekly fee per ‘guest’ family and IT IS NOT GUARANTEED TO ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE FOR OUR GUESTS USE - ASK US ABOUT THE REC CENTER BEFORE BOOKING IF IT IS IMPORTANT TO THE SUCCESS OF YOUR VACATION!

The equestrian center ‘PLACES’ is right next door & still open for booking trail rides and pony rides for small groups: 5475 Buck Springs Rd.
Pinetop Lakes Activity Center & Stables (PLACES) offers 1 hour and 2 hour trail rides for ages 8 and up; experienced outdoor guides will lead you into 180 miles of breathtaking trails in the Apache-Sitgreaves national Forest. We also offer rides that include breakfast or lunch. If you're not a "rider" we have a horse drawn carriage for your horse experience pleasure.  The horse drawn carriage is also available for your special event.
Sometimes we can offer pony rides younger guests. Riding lessons for those wishing to gain valuable experience from our trained staff are also offered; with one of our horses or yours.

Andre ting det er verdt å merke seg
*Check-in: 4 p.m.
*Check-out: NO LATER than 11 a.m.
If there are not guests checking in the same day after you, it may be possible to get a later time. You must get our direct permission at least the night before checking out.

GENERAL INFO:
***PLEASE DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN THE BEDS. You will be charged for professional cleaning services if any duvets, duvet covers, pillows, mattresses, etc are stained; and if that won’t get the stains out, you will be charged for replacements.
*There are some extra blankets, and used darker sheets/pillow cases in the 'bunkbed' room closet or laundry closet that you can use to cover/or in place of the 'nice' bedspreads if you are worried about possible stains. That's usually what we use when we are there - especially for our young kids with dirty feet. :)
*Please use the DARK washcloths provided in both bathrooms to remove make-up. Please do not use white towels to do anything that will stain. If the towels are stained, you will be charged for replacements.
*There are ‘cleaning’ cloths & old towels in the laundry closet that can be used for cleaning anything messy!
*PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB OR MOVE ANY OF THE 'UNDER THE BED' BASKETS/BINS OR THEIR CONTENTS, or any supplies stored in the closets. WE KEEP A VERY DETAILED INVENTORY OF EVERY ITEM WITHIN and if items are missing after you check-out, you will be held responsible for their replacements.
*Each bathroom has a blow-dryer, as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Please do not take any of the bottles - those stay at the cabin for all our guests to enjoy.
*The downstairs toilet/tub are a little finicky. To flush: hold the handle down until it gets ‘going’. Also, when the dishwasher and/or clothes washer are ‘draining’, the downstairs toilet and tub will not drain at full speed at the same time. We’ve had several plumbers/septic tank experts come check everything out many times: there are no clogs or back-up problems, it works great almost all of the time, just a little slower in those circumstances, even with large groups.
*Please do not flush any tampons or “flushable” wipes down the toilet, only toilet paper please!
*The downstairs shower can be turned on by lifting the little lever that is labeled 'SHOWER' on the bathtub water spout.
*The kitchen is well-stocked: plenty of plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, serving pieces and cutlery; there's also a griddle, instapot, hand mixer, toaster, blender, traditional and electric tea kettles, muffin pan, baking sheets, pots, pans, steak knives, Keurig Duo (makes both single cups with pods or full pots), coffee, tea, hot cocoa, creamer, sweeteners, honey, syrup, flour, sugar, olive and/or canola oil, cooking spray, and basic spices. Also foil, wraps and ziploc bags. (If they are running low or out, please let us know as soon as you notice so we can restock; feel free to leave behind anything non-perishable for future guests)
*There are ‘hidden drawers’ in the island. They are located ‘inside’ the top drawers and are labeled to draw attention. (That’s where you’ll find the ziplocs/foil, knives/cutting boards, and the miscellaneous junk drawer with lighter, scissors, pens, paper, tape, first aid, etc.)
*Please return items to their proper locations so that the next guests will be able to find them. (lighter, remotes, scissors, pens, etc.)
*Please use the cutting boards provided instead of cutting directly on the countertops. (they’re standing up inside the lazy susan corner cupboard or inside the middle top ‘hidden’ island drawer with the knives)
*Baking sheets are either at the very bottom of the cupboard to the right of the oven, or inside the lazy susan corner cupboard. Instapot and pancake griddle are above the fridge.
*Please toss food into the trash and not down the sink.
*Please do not use the garbage disposal for large amounts of any kind of food, but especially anything greasy or oily - it will cause major problems with the septic system. Only use the garbage disposal for small, non-greasy debris, along with some DAWN dish detergent. Please use the trash for large food waste.
*Fire extinguisher is in the laundry closet.
*The remotes for the t.v. and the ceiling fan in the great room are inside the box on the coffee table. After turning on the power to the tv, push the 'HOME' button, and the menu will appear. We have apple tv. (netflix, hulu, amazon prime, etc.)
*The remote for the fan in the master (king) bedroom is mounted on the wall.
*The thermostat is in the downstairs hallway. Be aware that the upstairs bedroom does not have heat registers, so if the door is kept closed, it will become chilly. We have provided a portable radiator heater for that room.
*PLEASE DO NOT run the heater with ANY bathroom or other windows open! PLEASE DO NOT run the heater with the fireplace flue open after the fire is out.
*We have provided a few laundry pods, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent pods and trash bags. Please do not take more than you need so we can continue to provide these for our guests.
*We have left some paper towels and a couple rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom. If you need more than that, you will need to purchase it.
*Cameras monitor all entryways into the cabin. There are no other cameras inside the cabin. We DO check that there are not undisclosed guests/pets or parties and of course any dangerous/illegal activities. If that occurs, we will most likely cancel the reservation.
*QUIET TIME BETWEEN 10 PM and 7 AM. A monitoring device records noise levels in real time, but doesn’t record what is making the noise – so privacy is maintained. If we receive any report/complaint from neighbors/HOA/police during your stay that result in us as owners being fined or penalized - you will be held personally responsible for said fines/penalties.
*PLEASE, no smoking/vaping of ANY kind inside the cabin, and if you do smoke outside, please dispose of your cigarette butts in the trash. There are plenty of small bowls that can be used as an ashtray. If our cleaners need to pick up any outside trash/waste, cigarette butts, empty beverage containers, etc, then you will be charged an extra cleaning fee.
**Absolutely no alcohol in the cabin or on the property unless you are of legal drinking age. (21 in Arizona)
***This is a residential neighborhood; our neighbors on the one side and in back of us are passionate about their peaceful lifestyle. They’ve installed cameras on their property, so PLEASE make sure everyone in your group (especially children) respects their privacy and does not wander around or play on their property. There is plenty of space next door to play in – we own the open wooded lots next to the cabin.

FIRE PIT:
Use the fire pit at your own risk; you could be fined if you light an open outside fire while they are restricted.
There are usually signs posted in town and at the entrance to the community with the fire restrictions. You can call the fire department for updates.
Wood can be purchased at most gas stations and grocery stores.
As of mid-July 2020 there are NO outside open fires allowed due to current forest fire danger. That may change when the rainy season gets going.

AUGUST 2020: **We are currently no longer on official fire restriction for pit fires in town.** (Thank you Rain!)

-Fire Pits must have at least a 3 feet perimeter cleared of any kind of debris, including pine needles/cones or anything else that could catch fire.
-Fires must never be allowed to get any larger than 2’x2’x2’.
-ALL FIRES should have a responsible ADULT by the fire at all times!!!
-ALL FIRES should have pressurized water (a hose ready in case of an emergency) and a shovel nearby to put dirt and water on it when done.
- If it’s windy, it’s best to NOT have fires.

Hello! I am a native Arizonan, as is my husband Brandon. We have 3 lovely young adult daughters and 3 beloved family dogs: a chihuahua, Lola, a miniature schnauzer, Winnie, and an Italian greyhound, Poppy. We began renovating properties as a hobby we could enjoy together when our girls started leaving the nest. I’m looking forward to traveling more after our youngest graduates. I love the outdoors, hiking and back-packing. I’ve been a yoga teacher for 5 years now. When I’m not teaching, I love to practice all kinds of yoga. I also love design and and all things creative. I love people (friends and family, and meeting new people) and learning about almost anything.
