Luxury and country rarely combine so well. The apartment is huge, comfortable and private with your own separate entry, undercover parking, kitchen and bathroom with huge TV and QS bed. Feed horses, chickens, geese, ducks. Explore with the farm dog, pick blueberries (in season), light a bon fire, and watch a million stars or just watch native animals. Experience life as it should be. 15 mins to Hobart, 10 to beaches, cliff top walks and cafés. Check out our F B page 'Full Gallop Farm Stay'
You have a self contained apartment at the far end of the main farm house. You enter from your own private undercover parking space into a large, well furnished, very comfortable room. A pair of French leather wing armchairs are set out before a huge 140cm TV. Watch DVD's or TV from here or from the very comfortable queen sized bed. Straight ahead, your bathroom is ensuite, and to the left, thru another door is a very cute, private, well appointed kitchen and dining area which over looks a private outdoor garden and the fields and woodlands beyond. You will often see our horses at your garden fence waiting for a pat or a carrot.
'Very comfortable, clean, spacious and cozy' ... these are words used by our guests. 'The best bed I have ever slept in' and 'I have never slept so well' are also included.
Wake up to ducks, geese, chickens and horses. If you have ever longer to 'play the farmer' you can get involved with feeding animals or chopping wood. If the peace and tranquility gets too much, quaint, historical Hobart is 15 minutes away and the beaches 10.
Venture outside to wander around the picturesque farm, trailed by the friendliest farm dogs alive. Feed carrots to horses, pat highland cows or throw a ball until your arm drops off for Kai, the jet black German Shepherd who thinks he is a teddy bear.
The animals can be avoided if requested, but are very popular with our guests! Most of them seem to think that our guests have come just to meet them and they get very excited when new people arrive. We have a HUGE jet black German Shepherd that looks like the Hound of the Baskerville but thinks that he is a poodle and a King Charles Cavalier who looks like butter wouldn't melt but has been know to help herself to a chicken dinner! The third dog is a Great Dane cross puppy of 12 months that is called Baggy Pants and is almost as big as a horse. She is delightfully friendly and cuddly. Our horses are totally gorgeous and, amongst others, we have a very successful retired race horse that loves nothing more than a cuddle and gives them out freely to anyone who is interested (a carrot is always accepted though but it is not mandatory). He spends much of his time looking over your garden fence hoping you share a carrot or an apple or just a chat with him. We have 3 friendly geese who free range (but, as with all of the animals, can't get into your garden unless you invite them).
Allens Rivulet is a green valley only 20 mins from the city of Hobart. We are ten minutes to Huonville in one direction and ten to Kingston in the other so beaches are also ten mins away. We have lots of riding trails and our own inland cliff. Willie Smith's award winning cider establishment is 5 minutes away. Mona is 30 minutes away.
Best to have a car, there is a bus route but it really only feeds onto the main Huon Highway and there is so much more to see.
Wifi is available but can be temperamental. Good at times and not so good at other times. We are on the NBN, so if it is patchy in The Barn (it is usually OK) you are always welcome to come into the house to use it. Your mobile will not work well at the farm ... part of being in the country!
If you dates are not available please ask as we have two other beautiful spaces available on the same property.

We love to have guests and we are happy to chat and assist with holiday plans. Additionally, this is a working blueberry farm producing beautiful fruit from long established mature bushes. Picking usually goes from mid January for seven to eight weeks. Both the horse therapy centre and the blueberries are seen, locally to be very restorative. Some of our farm clients visit, as much to pick our fruit, or visit the horses, as to experience the peace and restorative atmosphere of the property.

There are some fantastic walks from either end of the closest beach at Kingston, 10 minutes away. They take you onto the cliff tops and are quite spectacular.
I hate rules .. let me say that right up front so let's see it as 'suggestions'. We prefer no smoking but if you must then outside is OK. If you have kids and you want some extra beds we can arrange to put them in the room, it's spacious. You are welcome to use our beautiful garden and any part of the farm. Ask for anything you need and if I can help I will.
I really like people and love finding ways that I can help them to enjoy their holiday to the max. I travel regularly myself to the USA and Europe and enjoy meeting all sorts of people from all sorts of places ... the people you meet on your holiday can really make it extra special. I work as a traditional or equine assisted counsellor ... helping people to reach their optimum level of happiness. I like to spend as much time as possible outside in the open air surrounded by a variety of seemingly perpetually hungry creatures!. My property is very peaceful and restorative and it is a pleasure to share this with anyone coming to stay ... I hesitate to call them guests because so many will become friends. Check out the EAGALA website if you want to know more about my certified therapy horses.
