Stay in an authentic Teepee on a working horse ranch. The 20 ft Teepee is pitched at a beautiful Creekside location. The Teepee has a dirt floor so make sure you bring your own cots, pats, blankets and other camping essentials. We do provide drinking water and there is a bathroom within walking distance. Sorry no showers.

Tilgang for gjester

Guest are welcome to explore the creek bottom. We are a working ranch so we ask that you keep gates closed and don't get into the horse pens. Most of the horses are friendly and love nose scratches. Make sure you say hello to Kirby the mini fainting goat and throw a ball for Elle.

Interaksjon med Gjester

We are usually around the ranch feeding the animals and fixing things. If you need anything or have any questions please don't hesitate asking one of us.

Andre ting å merke seg

Stay entertained during the day with our unique neighbors. Colorado Clays is close by for shooting ranging sporting clays. Keenesburg Wild Animal Sanctuary the world’s largest carnivore sanctuary, is just around the corner. The DeKo Ranch is easy to get to with close access to Denver International Airport

My boyfriend and I were eager to stay in a teepee on Ted’s farm and were blown away by the hospitality from Ted and his brother, Danny. When we got there, it was 32 degrees! The tent had a heater for us which really came in handy. We had very little idea on how to start a fire, so Danny helped us out immensely in that area by creating quite a lovely fire! We all roasted marshmallows under the stars before going to bed. All in all, it was a great experience for both of us and would recommend anyone to staying in the one-of-a-kind teepee on a gorgeous horse ranch outside Denver.

You'll love this place, the host is really nice, definitely recommended. The heater ran out of gas in the middle of the night but all the other things were wonderful.

Amazing teepee on a beautiful ranch ran by a really nice man! Temperature got cold at night so bring extra blankets and sleeping bags. So much fun! The cutest lights inside the teepee at night make the ambiance incredible. Easy 5 miles off the highway.. Definitely would stay here again.

A fun alternative to tent camping. Beautiful setting. Ted was a great host and had everything ready when we arrived. The resident pup is very friendly and got along great with our pup. It was a unique way to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back!

When we first arrived, Ted's brother Danny was there to show us to our teepee and show us around. We were so impressed with everything, and absolutely loved staying in a teepee. They were very accommodating and made sure we had plenty of fire wood for the night. We will definitely be back again to experience this. It was a wonderful experience, and we wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely suggest to anyone who loves camping ! It's a unique and fun experience !

DeKo Ranch, previously known as Clappsaddle Farms, was bought by Ted DeKowzan in 2016. Ted purchased the ranch from Wilbur Flachman, a retired newspaper/magazine publisher also known to his friends as Bufford T. Clappsaddle. You will still find Wilbur on the Ranch as he continues to board 20 of his Pack Horses there.
Ted DeKowzan was born and raised in Colorado. From a young age, he always had a love for animals and the western lifestyle. Growing up Ted would help on his grandfather’s ranch where he gained respect for the land and open space. During high school Ted would spend his summers working on a ranch in Elizabeth, CO. Part of his job responsibilities was to wrap the steer’s horns for others to rope. Rather than leaving at the end of his day Ted convinced the ranch owner and his friends to teach him to team rope. He was immediately hooked and roping had now become a lifelong hobby. Unfortunately, roping took a backseat while Ted attended college at the Colorado School of Mines. While attending college he managed a horse boarding facility. Ted was likely the only CSM student who would arrive to tests in overalls after a morning spent mucking stalls. Upon graduation Ted was desperate to become reacquainted with his true passion of team roping and immediately began competing again. Owning a ranch and a roping facility had become a lifelong dream where he could share his passion with new and old friends alike. Ted is very excited for the opportunity to share his passion with others and for the future of DeKo Ranch.
