Rosie’s @ Berry is the perfect home where you can relax in luxurious comfort while you explore the glorious Berry area. The house is appointed with all you could need for a quick romantic break or a family get-together, with comfort and convenience the priority.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a guest hamper of local sourdough bread and various jams or marmalades, or chutneys and pickles, or cakes or biscuits I have made. After a quick orientation to the house, you will be left to settle into comfort and relaxation.
The three bedrooms have (from 2017) new beds, super soft quilts, pure cotton bedding and a selection of pillows to suit a range of preferences. All rooms have their own reverse cycle air conditioning so you can set the temperature to individual comfort levels and there are fans for those who prefer to enjoy a gentle breeze. Each room has a large wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and an ottoman for your suitcase, or when putting on shoes.
Two rooms have queen beds (with king sized quilts) and the third bedroom has a king bed.
In case there are extra guests, the front lounge has a single sized day bed that converts into a king size bed easily (two single mattresses) or a single mattress can be made up on the floor beside the daybed. The pocket doors can be closed to make this a private room. When not needed as an extra bedroom, this lounge also has its own TV and DVD player, plus a range of books and games to play.
There is a separate toilet, while the generous bathroom has both a bathtub and separate shower, with a range of bath products for you to enjoy, plus a few kid's toys for bathtime. The hot water system is gas so the hot water never runs out! There is also a stock of emergency toiletry products, because you never know what you might forget to pack!
The main living area has a large kitchen, a Tasmanian Oak dining table for 8, or 10 if needed, and a super comfortable lounge with large TV and Bluetooth speakers.
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need, and the pantry has a wide range of provisions that guests are welcome to enjoy. It’s highly likely you will be out and about enjoying meals at the local cafes and restaurants, but when you need some quiet time at the house you are welcome to raid the pantry for anything you might fancy, from breakfast cereals, to oils, spices, sauces, rice, pasta and even flours in case you feel a need to quickly bake.
Also in the pantry is an iron and ironing board, sewing supplies, first aid supplies, sunscreens and insect repellent, batteries and a picnic set. In case you have forgotten your phone charger there is a universal charger on the kitchen bench that works for newer phones.
The lounge opens through sliding glass and screen doors to a covered deck with a Weber gas barbeque and lots of seating, and from where you can enjoy district views from Coolangatta Mountain to the ranges. Across the lawns you can pick lemons or limes or a range of herbs and salad vegetables from the vegetable garden, depending on the season.
The house is designed to provide you with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, or as a lovely place to retreat to after being out and about enjoying the area or attending weddings or functions nearby.
Tilgang for gjester
You have the full house and garden. If you need a laundry, please let me know and I will give you access in my unit. Also, if you are pressed for time getting a large group ready for a wedding or function, let me know if you would also like to use my bathroom.
While I live at the side of the house, my aim is to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
- Convenience to the village means that there are neighbours. And as the house is at the top of a hill, sound at night carries. Please keep noise down as it gets late.
- No smoking in the house, but smoking is allowed outside provided the doors and windows are kept closed close to where you are smoking.
- There are candles in holders around the house that you are welcome to light. However please be very careful to never leave candles unattended, and always put them out.
When you arrive at Rosie’s @ Berry I’ll be here to welcome you and get you settled in, and will then leave you to your privacy.
I live in a self-contained unit to the side of the house and so if you need any advice on the area or any help then all you need to do is knock on my door or phone me. Having only recently relocated from Sydney, I’ve been delighted with my explorations of the area and will be happy to share any insights with you if you want. However, the emphasis is on your complete privacy, so after I welcome you it is unlikely you will see me unless you seek me out.
I'm a bright and happy person who loves meeting people and who is also a bit of a homebody.
I've both lived overseas and have traveled a great deal, so I have a good idea of the practical basics that a visitor to a new country/town needs ... and I'm happy to help with any guidance or advice you might like.
I recently rescued two cats that live with me in my unit, and so you may sometimes see them in the garden.
I've worked in many industries, generally in Human Resources and business management, and enjoy all things creative.
I'm looking forward to having visitors to my guesthouse, and will do everything I can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Guests will be private in the house, but I will be in the side unit and usually available if you would like information on this lovely area.
