UPDATE: After a wonderful (and hectic!) first 8 months on Airbnb, I've decided to take a breather and close down for the final months of 2017. I will be starting up again in 2018. Thanks to all of you from near and far away who booked and treated my home like your own. I've been able to add a lot of fun features to the house as a result of renting the house out, and more surprises are planned when I resume Airbnb next year. I've just opened up dates for Jan-April 2018.
So, guests ask me why I rent my house out:
Just over one year ago, I lost two amazing Labrador puppies (Sammy and Bear) to the Parvo Virus. I spent all my tax reserves trying to save them both (over $20,000)
People say you shouldn't make decisions in grief. I did. I sold my house, my car, and all my furniture, and moved to the country and bought this magnificent house so my new dogs (Tubs and Brutus) would be safe.
It is an amazing house, and I've put my heart and soul into it. I rent it out right now to help pay taxes. I also enjoy the reaction guests have when they check in. I'm a single guy, with two amazing dogs, and we all have a place to stay in Fresno when we are gone (though it does costs me)
As you will find, this house has amenities that you won't find elsewhere (on Airbnb or hotels). To name a few: a $4,000 massage chair, billiards table, gazebo, fire pit, 4 person infrared indoor sauna (coming mid-late August), library, gym/yoga equipment, desks for laptops, x-box, 4K 70 inch Tv, swimming pool with a large shelf for tanning, and TVs in every room. There are 4 air conditioning zones, and propane heats the house so warm water comes on within seconds. There are numerous board games for families to play, and swimming equipment and toys outside. My goal was to make this a paradise in the country, and I'm constantly adding new stuff to surprise guests.
Please take care of my house while you stay. It's a special place to me and my guests who take a time out from life.
Have a wonderful time!
P.s. If my house doesn't work for your budget, or if you have a smaller group, you should check out a place called 'Paradise at Millerton Lake' in this area: amazing views of the lake, hosts who provide meals (I don't), and from what I've read, you'll have a thouroughly good time there as well.

As I am now renting the whole house out, I return to Fresno with my dogs while guests stay here. I am available to answer questions via text however.
Couple of rules:
1) No parties. Strictly enforced with very few exceptions.
I don't mind guests having one or two friends over during the day (so long as I'm told) but the nightly limit is capped at 6 guests, and any friends that visit must leave by 10 pm.
2) Massage chair: please don't use it for more than 30 minutes at a time. It needs a 15 minute pause between sessions otherwise it could break.
3) No smoking in the house.
4) Please do not order pay-per-view movies on cable. Between the x-box, amazon TV, and cable, there are thousands of movies to watch for free. If you do wish to order a movie that costs, please let me know via text prior to ordering.
5) Please turn off lights and A/C or heating when checking out. Thank you.
I work as an attorney in the criminal justice system. I was born in Zimbabwe, Africa, and grew up in England, before moving to California 25 years ago. After serving in the US Navy, I moved to the Central Valley here, and fell in love with it. Almost anything you want to do or see is in close proximity.
My ideal guest(s) would be people who want to use my house as a base while they travel to places like Yosemite, or, those who just want to get away from life for a while and relax and unwind.
I designed this place to be a sanctuary in the countryside, and for that reason, I do not allow 'parties' or 'events', with few exceptions.
I hope you enjoy.
