As others have noted, having a car is much preferred to public transportation although one of the bus routes (and it really is called TheBus) is readily accessible from Lehiwa St. This house has four bedrooms, all upstairs, which are apparently all being listed through this service. At least two but not all have ceiling fans. None has air conditioning. Two of the rooms (one being the master suite with its own bathroom) have corner locations so have cross ventilation even with the bedroom door closed. It's a bit odd that these two rooms are the ones with ceiling fans while the others which could benefit from them apparently do not. Although a TV is listed as present it might have been at an earlier time but was not present in February 2017--but that turned out to be a plus for me as I was looking for a quiet place. This house is on a residential cul-de-sac and is indeed VERY quiet although you sometimes hear the helicopters from the nearby Schofield Barracks Army installation and Wheeler Army airfield. There is also a nearby military shooting range and I heard two different machine gun bursts for several minutes one morning at 0600. Thankfully, that only happened once. Although the host Mike does not live there he typically stops by every other afternoon and is quick to reply to e-mails or texts. If you want to be in the middle of tourist hustle and bustle do NOT book here--try Waikiki instead. If you want a very quiet place AWAY from the crowds, this is your place as long as you don't require air conditioning. Despite the heat and humidity in Hawaii the majority of residents do NOT seem to have A/C. Be aware that this location is in Mililani Mauka which is in the central part of Oahu at elevation compared to Honolulu proper so tends to run some 5 to 10 degrees F cooler than Honolulu. Although not as wet as the Windward side of Oahu (say, Kaneohe), it is not as dry or as hot as Waipahu, Ewa, and Kapolei which are to the southwest (although almost no locals use such directional terms). The individual refrigerator in each room was very much appreciated as some guests leave the kitchen messy and leave unwrapped foods in the kitchen's refrigerator and freezer, stinking up the unit for others.
