This is a very cute little traditional house with tatami floor bedroom, but still within walking to the lovely neighbourhood of Kagurazaka, and near Shinjuku too. In a quiet local residential neighbourhood, 5 minutes from the nearest subway station.
This is a very little, super cute, house in a quiet neighbourhood but still near Shinjuku and walking distance to the lovely Kagurazaka area and very easy to get to Shibuya too.
There is basically just two rooms, so if you are lucky and no one is in the other room, you might have the whole house to yourself. You can also book the whole house on our other listing. Our bedding is Japanese style mattresses and traditional houses in Japan are designed so you can fold the mattresses in three and put them away in the deep cupboards in the day-time and then use the rooms as dining room or lounge room.
The house is a very typical old style house that would normally be lived in by a family. The rooms are traditional with paper doors and straw mats. You will be on normal Japanese style bedding (but the toilet is western style). This a real, typical Japanese environment. If you love other cultures and new experiences you are likely to love our house and the real Japanese experience you will have here.
This house is luxury for one or two, fine for four, and very tight for five or six (you would be literally side by side in your futons at night with limited space for luggage).
Please be aware that this is an OLD Japanese style house (not a shiny new hotel room), and has very old woodwork, antique furniture, and steep stairs. If you are only comfortable in a western style building this is not the right house for you. If you love interesting exotic experiences this is a wonderfully charming little house and I am sure you will love it.
