Take a step back in time. Stay in an original barn. It is at the end of a 2 mile gravel road. There is a working farm across the lane, and one other neighbor. When you walk in, you will be overwhelmed by the romantic, open quiet environment! Open the windows and hear coyotes, birds, and animals from the farm! Make a bonfire and watch stars with the provided telescope. You won't believe how clear the sky is!
Decided to convert an old barn into a home. it is a romantic, quiet beautiful getaway. I hope you enjoy the get away as much as I do. As we use this once a month, please understand it is more a home than a motel! A very unusual one, at that!
Unfortunately I do live two 1/2 hours away from the barn. There is also a keypad lock on the door for our guests.
Enjoy my restored 1849 barn at the end of a secluded road. (it's a 240 acre farm). This is in the middle of the country. There is a first floor bedroom(queen bed) with full private bathroom. (the bathtub does not work, just the shower) The downstairs bedroom has patio doors for an abundance of light and access. Beware, there are honeybees swarming from a nearby tree, they won't bother you if you don't bother them, but if you are allergenic, I wouldn't go out those doors! Newly built private bedroom upstairs in loft with queen size bed. There is also a full bathroom upstairs with a tub and sauna. There are two twin beds still in an open loft area, as well as a pullout twin leather couch. The opposite loft has a table for cards, tv for movies, and full size couches if you need additional sleeping. Kitchen fully equipped. Granite countertops, microwave, stove, refrigerator. Four bathrooms, (bathtub in master doesn't work)propane heat, woodburner, and wood burning fireplace.
the brick fireplace should not be used for heat, it draws more than it gives off heat. Please enjoy it in the morning or evening for beautiful days! Cable and internet. Third bathroom in mudroom with separate access for muddy hikers. Living room has a plug in inflatable mattress if you have a large group. This is an original barn. There is well water. There is a reverse osmosis water system in the kitchen. The ice maker is not hooked up. Although the propane furnace keeps the downstairs' bedroom very warm, it does have trouble with the living area. We put a pellet stove in the living room, which keeps it comfortable. Please follow the directions or call if you have problems, if the settings are changed IT WILL NOT WORK!!!
It is treated for bugs bi yearly, but, there very well may be some. This is an original barn from the 1800s.There are dogs, roosters, cows, and chickens across the way!
great accommodations for traveling sports teams!the barn will sleep two couples privately, and a group of teammates in the common area. Contact me if your group is over nine!

To emphasize, there is a tree outside the master bedroom with honey bees. They stay to themselves, but, if you're allergic, you might want to make sure this is right for you.
The farm has roosters that begin crowing at about 5, I love it, but close the bedroom windows and doors if it is going to bother you!
Also, there are coyotes that start howling at dusk. if you make arrangements to bring a dog, do not let them run loose. the farm and neighbor have dogs, too.
The main living area has a pellet stove, propane furnace, woodburner, and aware, It is still cold depending on the temperature outside, because there are 30 ft. ceilings!
