These guests were 3 ladies from Europe visiting America. Their review was surprising. We can only surmise that they were preferring to have a room in the Hilton Hotel for the price they paid for a room in a horse barn. We are not sure how it is in France but in America a horse barn does have the smell of horses and there can be a bug or two found even as hard as we work to eradicate them. The room size (12’X12’) is not mentioned in our listing but is quite adequate and in two years over 50 visitors to this particular room and no one has complained about it being too small. However we have now taken steps to include the size in our description in our listing. The Groom Quarters, as it is called, was originally designed for lay over traffic for horse people traveling the horse show circuit. They wanted a place for their groom to stay to watch over their expensive animals. The owners would stay in the Hilton Hotel just 10 miles away. Because we were able to offer the room at such a reasonable price it became popular for other visitors who wanted to experience the country equine life. These ladies apparently did not like that experience.
As for the “form” they objected to signing, it is a liability release form because of the animals. We call attention to the rules and protocol at the ranch to keep everyone safe. We do not want a city slicker to say “they didn’t know.”
We had a family in that room just before these French ladies and they were very happy with this room. Below is their review comment:
“This is our second stay, this time with our 3-year old granddaughter. Once again we were treated wonderfully and had a great experience. Couldn't be happier! And we loved eating at Swampy's.”
We also had two ladies just after them in the same room and this is their review:
“Highly recommend to those that want to experience something different.”
“Although it was a short stay, enjoyed our stay. Most definitely be back”
