Our tiny house is one open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, large sectional sofa, built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bath with a shower accessible from the living area.
We have a 167-year-old log cabin on our property, too, and want to be sure that you know there may be guests there during your stay at our tiny house. Please feel free to send us an inquiry before you make a reservation:)

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat wooded and grassy yard for exploring plus a firepit and plenty of seating (rocking chairs, swing, table and chairs).
Tilgang for gjester
You will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons you can enjoy over an acre of our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) with bocce ball, croquet and a slackline. We have a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring, too. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading or chatting plus a firepit to warm you on chilly night.

Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Also of note, we get a good cellular signal on our property.
- If guests are staying in the cabin next door, we ask that you be mindful of your noise level and their privacy. We ask the same of them:)
John and I met in the rocky Wasatch Mountains of Utah ~ he's from Milwaukee and moved there to ski and snowboard; I moved there to be a part of the Sundance Film Festival. We moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains (where I'm from) in 2001. John is an art metalsmith (aka jeweler) who loves to cook for our friends and family and to craft beer with his friends. I am a full-time mom who has a passion for creating art, reading good books and having a good laugh with my girlfriends. We have a five-year-old son who loves Legos, riding the bus home from kindergarten and is a superhero with all the powers in the universe. Our family loves to be outdoors, to travel to old places and explore new ones... but we're always happy to come back home to these mountains.
