Perfect for a couples' getaway, small family, or a trip with a few friends, this updated retreat is within walking distance to award-winning restaurants, boutique shops, and much more in beautiful NE Portland! We just added two brand new bikes (outfitted with helmets, panniers, and more!) so you can enjoy summer like a local on our bike-friendly streets!

Located in the Concordia neighborhood, this home sits next to a large city park (Fernhill Park) and is within walking distance to New Seasons Grocery as well as the Alberta Arts District (10 minute walk). It's also not far to McMenamins Kennedy School (1 block) for great pub grub, microbrews, and movie theaters.

This charming basement space is comprised of one bedroom and a separate living area/combined kitchen area. Modern furnishings sit throughout and include a Blu-ray, Netflix and cable-equipped flatscreen TV, a European-style couch, and a cafe dinette set. There's also several board games and books to help you find great local hikes and restaurants in the area. The home is also WiFi equipped.

Use the kitchen's stainless steel appliances and plenty of cookware to whip up a feast. Eat together at the two-seat cafe table or dine al fresco on the patio if the weather permits. There are two spare chairs for seating for four.

Up to three (or 3 + baby) guests will sleep comfortably here on queen bed in the bedroom, a small futon in the living room, and a pack-n-play.

Local activities include browsing eclectic shops, restaurants, and live music venues along Alberta St., renting bikes for a scenic ride along the Columbia River on NE Marine Drive (three miles north), or wildlife viewing at Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area (six and a half miles northwest). Easily accessible by public transit, downtown Portland (about six miles) is also worth a visit, as is the pristine Pacific Northwest habitat in Forest Park, which lies a bit further up into the West Hills.

Please note that we live upstairs of the rental, so footsteps, and occasionally our 4 year-old daughter may be heard, similar to any apartment building.

You'll have your own doorcode and key access to the apartment. The apartment has a private entrance around the back of the house. The apartment also has a privately fenced part of the yard to enjoy a cup of coffee. The whole apartment is solely for your use and is not shared, including the kitchen, bath, washer, and dryer. There is an internal staircase between our house and the apartment, but this is locked from both sides like a hotels do with adjoining rooms

This home has the legal permit requirements for the city of Portland. Airbnb's system to block phone numbers, unfortunately thinks the permit is a phone number and made it gibberish. If you would like the permit number, please ask!
