Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". “Cosy but spacious, peaceful, very clean and full of character,” say guest reviews. This is a private cottage annex to a historic 1830s home, set in grounds surrounded by tall trees. Watch red squirrels and birds through the big window in your kitchen-diner. Come home to a hot woodstove, bath with powerful overhead shower, fluffy towels, and a lodge-style bedroom with luxurious kingsize bed. It's a great base for the wild Cairngorms, forest walks, Glamis, Scone and more. Dogs stay at no charge.
