Within 100 yards is Sol y Mar, where managers can assist with travel advice, and they are open year-round for food, drink and opportunity to socialize if you please.

Whales, dolphins, and sea turtles are also commonly sighted from Matapalo beach. Please note that due to rough waves and rocky coastline Matapalo Beach is not ideal for swimming.
