Bridge End, Martindale, Ullswater

Near the end of the road close to the south east side of Ullswater, escape from it all in this 17th Century cottage with river frontage. With 25 years of wonderful holidays there we hope we’ve thought of everything should the Cumbrian weather keep you indoors. There’s ping pong, a full-sized snooker table, darts, table football, countless games and the famous (at least in our household) Bridge End Beech Curling in the barn. In 2.5 acres of its own land, sometimes shared with sheep and red deer.

Keepers is a traditional stone cottage situated on Grisedale Bridge, just a short stroll from Glenridding and Patterdale. It is ideal for walkers wishing to explore Ullswater and the Lake District or couples looking for a romantic getaway. Peel Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the magnificent local mountains and lakeside activities - residents parking outside the cottage. The cottage is in a central location in Glenridding where all the amenities (pubs, shops and cafes) are literally a 2 to 5 mins walk away. Many other Lake District attractions are only a short drive away. The cottage is on a no through road and therefore the garden/patio is a great place to relax and the cottage is ideal for a perfect nights sleep.

We are located in Patterdale, on the southern tip of Ullswater and at the foot of Helvellyn. Our location is perfect for bagging a Wainwright or two, running a Lakeland trail, doing the Helvellyn Triathlon or going for a trip on an Ullswater Steamer, a great starting point to walk Helvellyn & Striding Edge . We are enroute for both Wainwright's C2C walk and the Ullswater Way. Built in 1902, this self contained apartment was historically the station end of Patterdale Police Station.
