Close to National and State Parks, Skiing, Hiking, Watauga Lake, Boone and Blowing Rock, NC; Damascus and Abingdon, VA . We are centrally located to major attractions but be careful if sightseeing, adventure, or family fun is on your agenda. Once you are here, you might not want to leave. Ruby's Rest

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

Our 750 sq ft. Cabin offers WiFi, streaming TV, central AC and heat, fully stocked kitchen, coffee provided, towels, comfortable bed and quality linens. We are 1/2 mile from the North Fork of New River. It's a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the mountains. Dogs welcome.

The North Star Dome

Unplug & reconnect with nature. The Dome is nestled on our farm's off-grid hilltop. Tremendous mountain views, peace, and animals to visit! This is CAMPING, elevated with comforts. We provide the climate controlled dome, comfy bed (BYO sheets), griddle, and basic supplies. You bring: Queen size bedding, drinking water, cooler, & firewood. Outdoor shower OPEN till October 1st. Hiking trails straight from the front door. Short drive to Boone/Appalachian State University and Banner Elk and all 3 ski areas. We are a family of four (plus some 4-legged friends), on the go with sports and outdoor activities like mountain biking, skiing and climbing. Quiet setting, dark skies, and mountain vistas!

Bears can sometimes be seen crossing the road or strolling thru the fields Damascus and Mountain City are only minutes away! Our place offers a big yard to enjoy along with a fire pit with firewood furnished. Cornhole and board games are also available. A nice sitting area on the covered back porch to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The River House is a quiet two story farm house that sits on the South Fork of the Holston River. It is halfway between the trail town of Damascus and historic Abingdon. Enjoy the relaxing wrap around porch where you can hear and see the sights of the river. A short walk from the driveway is the Virginia Creeper Trail, the perfect place to hike, bike, or just walk with family. Fish along the bank of the river or take a short trip to the town of Abingdon to visit the Barter Theatre.
