It is ideally located for day trips to the beaches of Northumberland, the Scottish Borders or the Lake District National Park.

It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.

Ideal for anyone simply wanting to connect with nature and switch off. At Holmehead there are 2 huts, The Pheasant and The Partridge Huts, with a holiday cottage now available, making it a great place for a family or group holiday.

Cosy shepherds hut on Hadrian’s Wall

A basic and cosy shepherds hut a few minutes walk from the Hadrian’s Wall trail, tucked away on a tiny campsite (Camping at Banks), a no vehicles site where you can enjoy the sounds of nature. The hut has a wood burning stove, bottom sheets and pillows. You can hire sleeping bags from us. There is a compost loo and outside sink but no shower or electricity. The hut is suitable for those arriving by foot or bicycle - there is NO PARKING on the site. Single night stays welcome!
