You are five minutes to Maggie Valley, ten minutes to Waynesville, and thirty minutes to Asheville, NC. You will find yourself close to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Cataloochee for horseback riding, snow skiing and elk watching. The style uses old barn wood, popular tree bark, rusty metal and 100-year old tobacco sticks on the deck.
NC Mountain Escape at the Schoolhouse on HemphillThis magical Maggie Valley Schoolhouse is one of a kind. Refurbished with handmade furniture, curated antiques and all of the comforting amenities of home, this Schoolhouse is the perfect mountain escape. Built in the 1800’s it was used as the first schoolhouse in the area. You will find treasures from its original days like a corn-cob floor patch, student names carved into the bead board wall and a bookshelf forged out of the original schoolhouse door. The area is serene, yet near to town.
