Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Peel Cottage - Lake District

Peel Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the magnificent local mountains and lakeside activities - residents parking outside the cottage. The cottage is in a central location in Glenridding where all the amenities (pubs, shops and cafes) are literally a 2 to 5 mins walk away. Many other Lake District attractions are only a short drive away. The cottage is on a no through road and therefore the garden/patio is a great place to relax and the cottage is ideal for a perfect nights sleep.

Garden Flat, Ullswater: Fabulous views and reviews

Stunning views of Ullswater... Very special... Perfect... Well equipped... Spotless and clean... Fantastic host... No picture of our panoramic view can really do justice to The Garden Flat. But we hope those words from our most recent reviews do. The flat is in an elevated 19th century former hunting lodge. The Ullswater Way walking route is at the end of the drive. Down the hill is the Brackenrigg Inn, with its own microbrewery, and Another Place, with lake swimming and spa facilities.

The Barn - a cottage in our barn near Ullswater

A bright, airy cottage in a converted barn on our small farm near Ullswater. There's plenty of space to spread out and relax with views to the front and rear straight onto the fells capturing sunrises and sunsets alike. Two bedrooms comfortably sleep up to 5 with the large double height kitchen/dining room a perfect space for a larger get-together. The downstairs includes the kitchen, sitting room, a bedroom and the bathroom and has been specifically designed to be wheelchair friendly.

Apartment in Patterdale at the foot of Helvellyn

We are located in Patterdale, on the southern tip of Ullswater and at the foot of Helvellyn. Our location is perfect for bagging a Wainwright or two, running a Lakeland trail, doing the Helvellyn Triathlon or going for a trip on an Ullswater Steamer, a great starting point to walk Helvellyn & Striding Edge . We are enroute for both Wainwright's C2C walk and the Ullswater Way. Built in 1902, this self contained apartment was historically the station end of Patterdale Police Station.
