The Thistle at Texas Comfort Haus

This is the one of four rooms at our Texas Comfort Haus. A Queen bed, large room and private bathroom are accessed from the side of our property. Single bedroom/bathroom combo with access doors from the exterior. We are only the THIRD OWNERS of this 115+ old historic home. It was used as a home, school and to house missionaries over the years. Now we share it. We LOVE its charm, and chose to not change many of those things. Yes, the floors are original, doors creak and insulation did not exist.

A place to relax, quiet neighborhood, enjoy the Guadalupe River, nearby Wineries, golfing, hunting, fishing, bike trails, horseback riding, canoe/kayak/tube rentals in the area. Less than 30 minutes away from Fredericksburg, and less than an hour away from San Antonio!

This private room with bath and kitchen is attached to my house by a front wall, roof, and back deck, although there is no common wall. The deck looks over peaceful Barons Creek where deer and turkeys are often seen. It is 1 mile from the heart of downtown. This has never been an actual barn but is constructed like one.
