The class includes meditation, gentle movement, and mantras; the focus is how to approach food not just as fuel for our body, but as the substance for our mind, our emotions, and our soul. We will discuss not just What to eat, but When, Where, and How, because your long-term health depends on it!. Additionally, we will set up our sacred cooking space in the large and well equipped kitchen. During the food preparation, I will provide an Orientation of Ayurvedic Nutriotional Principles so that the guest will understand the foundation on which Ayurveda's unique approach rests. This Orientation includes an overview of Digestion (Agni) and Metabolism, Digestive toxins (Ama), and the important guidelines for mindful eating. The class is hands-on, so each guest will have the opportunity to actively participate in the food preparation, as this is a crucial part of mindful self-care. We will prepare a traditional yogi dish "kitchari", known for its unique use of healing spices such as turmeric, ginger, cardamom, cilantro, and ghee. ** I can be flexible with dates, so if you would like to book a date not listed in the calendar, please reach out to me directly.
