Dette kommer dere til å gjøre
Experience the daily life in Mokoditek. It’s a chance to get to know the people and culture while enjoying the magnificent view and tasty local cuisines. Let’s have breakfast or snacks before exploring the village. You’ll do farm walking through coconut, maize, rice, and more plantations. You will see the coconut production site where copra and charcoal are made. If lucky, you can also join the farmers planting or harvesting their produces (seasonal). You’ll stop at Peakniq, a hut on a hill with 360 panoramic views of mountains, Celebes Sea and uninhabited island. Perhaps you’ll see wildlife like crows, eagles, monkeys, etc. You’ll learn how to cook local cuisines and then enjoy the fresh-homemade cooking for lunch. After lunch, you can relax or take a nap. And then, you can do a medium trekking to the highest point of the hills, right behind Peakniq. From here, you’ll walk back to the meeting point through the village. Monday is the market day, we can go to the wet market to buy cooking ingredients for your lunch. If you don’t see your preferred date on the schedule, please feel free to send me a request.
I’m founder of Peakniq getaway destination and initiator of Mokoditek community-based tourism. I had 10+ years of experience in organizing trip across Indonesia and abroad. I’ve worked for some resorts, event management, and International NGO in tourism development. Sometimes I write travel features for nation-wide media. I’m here to share my passion and introduce our community to the world. Hopefully, this initiative can support the community empowerment and contribute to the local economic development.
