Michiko’s profession is ceramic art and Toshiko’s is remaking products from kimono textile. In 2009, they were having independent craft work corners at some famous hotel of Nara and made friends. Since then these two adventurous ladies’ unique experience planning of classes started! In 2010, they moved to Naramachi, the old historic town of Nara, and opened Handicraft work class “Yuyukobo”…

The class is situated in "Naramachi", the historic area within the ancient precinct of Gangoji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Gangoji was the first Buddhist temple in Japan, but most of the buildings were destroyed in a big fire in 1451. After that, people began to build houses in this area and it became a town of merchants. Why not enjoy even a short promenade and shopping around this historic area after or before the class?
