You will be greeted by a welcome glass of cava, then learn how to shuck oysters! As well as shucking, find out why they are so good for you and what makes these oysters so special. Is it true they make the best hangover cure? Should you chew or swallow them? Learn recipes for sauces to accompany and cook oysters. Also find out which wines are best paired with oysters. (After the experience we can send you to a hidden wine bodega nearby who specialise in natural wines). Enjoy 4 home made tapas from our weekly changing menu, whilst sipping 2 glasses of crisp white wine.

Oysters have been a passion of the El Casal brothers since birth! Their home town produces arguably some of the best oysters in the world. Delicious and fresh they are consumed by the dozen in Normandy. They want to share their passion for oysters with foodies and anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.

This experience is at El Casal Café, a cosy bistro in El Borne area of Barcelona. It´s a family business, run by 2 brothers from Normandy. Their home town is famous for producing gold medal winning oysters; they import these delicacies straight to the heart of Barcelona. Join us at "le comptoir" for the shucking demonstration, then be seated in the bistro to enjoy a selection of our tapas.

We´ll be waiting to greet you in our bistro El Casal Café. Some people find Placa Victor Balaguer hard to locate. It´s on Carrer de la Nau, sitting between Santa Maria del Mar Church and Via Laietana.
