Dette kommer dere til å gjøre
We'll meet you in the morning in the main square in Bovera and give you a quick insight into this small rural village and its way of life. Then we'll walk the short distance to the Pou del Mano (Mano's well) through almond groves and dry stone walling. After a brief description of our work - it's an ongoing project - and a look at the old well and its history, maybe pick some lavender, thyme or rosemary, or whatever vegetable may be in season, we'll get out the cameras and get ready to start shooting. We'll look around the best places, and depending on the time of the year we may find tarantulas (including enormous females with their egg sacs), praying mantis, grasshoppers, beetles, centipedes, bumble bees, butterflies, geckos, snails and more. Some may be tempted to spend some time in the pool hide, and maybe photograph several species of wild birds. Then in the colder months you can enjoy a slice or two of toast with local olive oil, and maybe a barbequed artichoke washed down with a spurt of red wine from the "porró", to recover your energy to continue. After this renewed effort you may like to relax among the lavender, on a hammock, or even play a game of "bitlles" before we walk back to the village square and the activity ends. Buf you don't have to go just yet, there's so much more you can do...
I'm an ecologist, professional bird guide and incorrigible naturalist and conservationist. If you have an idea about what that all means this could be the activity for you! My wife, Florinda, is from a small village in les Garrigues - Bovera. Over the last few years we have been developing a greening project planting trees, growing organic vegetables, creating living soil and enhancing micro ecosystems and providing habitats for local wildlife. Insects have been the first to respond, with grasshoppers galore, beetles, spiders - including huge and delightful female tarantulas - praying mantis, bees, butterflies and more all edging their way in. In their tracks have followed geckos, mice and birds, and we are not looking back - the work and the dream continues!

Her skal du være
Bovera is a small village of just over 200 inhabitants in Les Garrigues, Lleida, Catalonia. Most of its economic activity is centred around olive and almond production. The Pou del Mano is a site just outside the village with an old well of more than 70 years as its centrepiece. It has been redesigned as an area for wildlife and for people with organic fruit trees, vegetables and aromatics, a pond and hide, and places for people to chill out.
