Dette kommer dere til å gjøre

Our day hiking and paddling through the NZ backcountry starts in Queenstown. After picking you guys up, we'll set off on a gorgeous drive towards the rural town of Glenorchy. After a quick pit stop we'll leave civilisation behind and disappear down a dirt road into the Rees Valley. The road less travelled if you like.
Once the road runs out, we'll start hiking. I'll provide you with a backpack and all the gear you'll need for our packrafting adventure.
The hike itself is flat, very easy going and jaw dropingly beautiful. We'll hike beneath glacier cover peaks, flanked by waterfalls and through an alluvial river valley where we often see more deer than humans. We're fortunate enough to have exclusive access to this working farm for our trips. We're a long way from the madding crowds. We'll walk for around 2hrs. Expect to get your feet wet as we cross the river a few times.
We'll stop for hearty lunch at a small creek where our paddling journey starts.
After a inflating our packrafts, we'll spend some time exploring canyons and practicing our paddling before taking to the main river.
Packrafting along the Rees river is a relaxing and liberating experience. The river is reasonably flat and extremely beginner friendly. Everyone has their own packraft to explore and drift down stream. After an hour or so we'll be back where we started, ready to roll our boats up and head home.
Other things to note
No experience is required, you'll be with fully qualified instructors all day who can teach you everything you'll need to know.

I've been working as a professional in the outdoors since 2005. This is not my first rodeo. My CV is varied and distinguished including becoming a sponsored explorer and river runner, climbing Kilimanjaro 9 (nine!) times and collecting a handful of "first descents" on rivers around the world.
I'm incredibly passionate about my work in the outdoors.
Qualifications include:
Whitewater rescue technician
Pre-hospital emergency care
Trained British mountaineering council mountain leader
Rescue 3 International Swift water rescue instructor
Royal geographic society off-site safety management certification
Bsc Sports Development & coaching

My partner Sarah helps behind the scenes and may in correspondence with you whilst I'm out of reception on a trip. We're parents to two energetic young boys, Tarn and Denali and a curious chocolate Lab

Her skal du være

We have exclusive access to the Rees River. This is an authentic high country farm that is often used as a location for films, including most recently Mission Impossible Fallout.
Cascades and waterfalls from the glaciers feed our the Rees. Flanked on one side by the Richardson Mountains and the Forbes on the other, our river snakes it's way through lush grass land home to whitetail deer, merino sheep, paradise ducks and Hereford cattle.

The experience itself is truly unique and one of the best things I have ever done. Would highly recommend this to everyone, especially as it was my first day in Queenstown and what a way to see nature in all its glory.

This tour was amazing! The scenery, especially the river pack rafting was to die for. A good manageable number of participants, so we all could have an enjoyable experience, and even better, no noisy jet boats. Do yourself a favour and do this tour. We'll definitely be doing again on our next visit to Queenstown
