The Old Dairy, cottage on Highland Farm

As the name suggests this cottage was previously used as dairy on the family farm in years gone by. The house was built in the 1850's, the first house on the farm as it is now. The cottage was also known as Grieves House and was home to the Manager of Dalmore Distillery years and years ago. We live on a family farm and there is always somebody nearby for assistance during your stay. Dalmore Farm is in a quiet location on the edge of Alness, a busy town which in 2018 won the title of Best High Street in Scotland. Set on the shore of the Cromarty Firth, this makes an ideal base for exploring Easter Ross and the Northern Highlands. Alness town centre is approx 10 - 15 walk Morrisons and Lidl are approx 5 minute walk

Go touring, walking, bird-watching, mountain-biking, cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding or fishing in the day then relax on the decking in the evening. With plenty of attractions nearby you can enjoy the best of Sutherland and the North Coast 500 from this quiet, but well connected, location. A variety of dining options are available locally or simply provide for yourselves in the well equipped kitchen area.

Take it easy at our unique and tranquil getaway. If you love nature, walking, biking or birdwatching then stay in our new POD, which is embedded in Scottish wilderness, on our working croft, where all the wool comes from. We are situated one hour North of Inverness, next to Alladale Wilderness Reserve and en-route of the biking trail from Croick to Ullapool. Close to NC500. If you like peace and quiet and Northern Lights, or you want to be surrounded by sheep, then you will love it here.

The Armadilla Pod comfortably sleeps two guests which can convert from 2 twin/ 1 double bed. Cairn Pod is equipped to a high standard with private parking and luxury home comforts.

It is perfectly situated as a pit-stop for the NC500 or as a base to enjoy the hills, glens and coastline.

One of our pods named after our dogs. Take a seat on the deck with a cuppa or a glass and watch the world go by.
